Finite Difference Solution Methods for a System of the Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2004
This paper investigates finite difference schemes for solving a system of the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations. Several types of schemes, including explicit, implicit, Hopscotch-type and Crank-Nicholson-type are defined.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Robust exponential stability of nonlinear impulsive switched systems with time-varying delays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper deals with a class of uncertain nonlinear impulsive switched systems with time-varying delays. A novel type of piecewise Lyapunov functionals is constructed to derive the exponential stability.

Spectral Analysis of Polynomial Nonlinearity with Applications to RF Power Amplifiers

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
The majority of the nonlinearity in a communication system is attributed to the power amplifier (PA) present at the final stage of the transmitter chain.

Nonlinear analog processing with anisotropic nonlinear films

open access: yesNanophotonics
Abstract Digital signal processing is the cornerstone of several modern‐day technologies, yet in multiple applications it faces critical bottlenecks related to memory and speed constraints. Thanks to recent advances in metasurface design and fabrication, light‐based analog computing has emerged as a viable option to partially replace ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Indoor Autonomous Control of a Two-Wheeled Inverted Pendulum Vehicle Using Ultra Wide Band Technology

open access: yesSensors, 2017
In this paper, we aimed to achieve the indoor tracking control of a two-wheeled inverted pendulum (TWIP) vehicle. The attitude data are acquired from a low cost micro inertial measurement unit (IMU), and the ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is utilized to

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

State-feedback stabilization for stochastic high-order nonlinear systems with a ratio of odd integers power [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper investigates the problem of globally asymptotically stable in probability by state-feedback for a class of stochastic high-order nonlinear systems with a ratio of odd integers power.

NONLINEAR MODEL OF ARICE DRYING PROCESS USING NEURAL NETWORKS

open access: yesVitae
Background: The production quality of rice is highly depended on the drying process as drying weakens the rice kernel. A look at the production process of rice in the industry was taken.
