The Rogue Waves with Quintic Nonlinearity and Nonlinear Dispersion effects in Nonlinear Optical Fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present exact rational solution for a modified nonlinear Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger equation that takes into account quintic nonlinearity and nonlinear dispersion corrections to the cubic nonlinearity, which could be used to describe rogue wave in nonlinear fibers.

A Nonlinear Wave Equation with Jumping Nonlinearity

open access: yesDiscrete & Continuous Dynamical Systems - A, 1998
We investigate multiplicity of solutions $u(x,t)$ for a piecewise linear perturbation of the one-dimensional wave operator $u_{t t} - u_{x x}$ under Dirichlet boundary condition on the interval $(-\pi/2, \pi/2)$ and periodic condition on the variable $t$.

Nonlinear waves of nuclear density [PDF]

open access: yesInt.J.Mod.Phys. E7 (1998) 449-463, 1999
Nonlinear excitations of nuclear density are considered in the framework of semiclassical nonlinear nuclear hydrodynamics. Possible types of stationary nonlinear waves in nuclear media are analysed using Nonlinear Schroedinger equation of fifth order and classified using a simple mechanical picture.

Bifurcation Analysis and Chaos Control of a Fractional Order Portal Frame with Nonideal Loading Using Adaptive Sliding Mode Control

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2017
We investigate the chaotic oscillations in a fractional order model of a portal frame with nonideal loading. The bifurcation of the fractional order portal frame system for parameters and fractional orders are investigated. Bicoherence analysis shows the

New Interaction Solutions of (3+1)-Dimensional KP and (2+1)-Dimensional Boussinesq Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2015
The consistent tanh expansion (CTE) method has been succeeded to apply to the nonintegrable (3+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) and (2+1)-dimensional Boussinesq equations.

Feasibility of heart girth models in estimating live weight of fat‐long‐tailed sheep

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, 2021
Fat deposition in the brisket of Ethiopian fat‐long‐tailed sheep may interfere with the correlation between heart girth (HG) and live weight (LW), bringing into question the accuracy of HG models for LW prediction that are currently in use.

Graphene - a rather ordinary nonlinear optical material [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
An analytical expression for the nonlinear refractive index of graphene has been derived and used to obtain the performance metrics of third order nonlinear devices using graphene as a nonlinear medium. None of the metrics is found to be superior to the existing nonlinear optical materials.

Hamiltonian form of extended cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in a nonlinear Klein-Gordon model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We derive an extended cubic-quintic nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation with Hamiltonian structure in a nonlinear Klein-Gordon model with cubic-quintic nonlinearity. We use the nonlinear dispersion relation to properly take into account the input of high-order nonlinear effects in the Hamiltonian perturbation approach to nonlinear modulation.
