Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

Positive solutions of nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with Dirichlet boundary conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2012
In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of a class of nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with  Dirichlet boundary conditions. By applying the fixed point theory on cones we establish a series of criteria for

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Weak solutions for the p-Laplacian with a nonlinear boundary condition at resonance

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
We study the existence of weak solutions to the equation $$ Delta_p u = |u|^{p-2} u+f(x,u) $$ with the nonlinear boundary condition $$ | abla u|^{p-2} frac{partial u}{partial u} = lambda |u|^{p-2} u -h(x,u),.

Existence of solutions to Sturm–Liouville boundary value problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
We study the solvability of Sturm–Liouville boundary value problems for $x''=f(t,x,x'), t\in(0,1)$. The nonlinearity can be defined on a bounded set and is required to be continuous on its subset.

Strictly convergent algorithm for an elliptic equation with nonlocal and nonlinear boundary conditions

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2012
The paper describes a formally strictly convergent algorithm for solving a class of elliptic problems with nonlinear and nonlocal boundary conditions, which arise in modeling of the steady-state conductive-radiative heat transfer processes.

Solution of Nonlinear Polarization Boundary Conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Boundary Elements, 2007
An efficient algorithm for solving multiple reaction electrochemical polarization equations is presented. The boundary integral formulation for the electric field (Laplace equation) conveniently provides a direct relationship between potential and current at the electrode surfaces, which can then be coupled to the nonlinear polarization boundary ...
