Nonlinear Dynamic Buckling of Sandwich Panels
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1976Nonlinear dynamic buckling of simply supported rectangular sandwich panels with isotropic cores and with initial curvature under transverse loads is analyzed. The large deflection sandwich panel equations proposed by Reissner are solved using a trigonometric series spacewise and by Houbolt scheme for timewise integration.

Ships and Offshore Structures
The nonlinear buckling of cone-segmented cylinders under external pressure has been investigated. The cylinders include four nominally identical cones and their slant angles ranged from 0°–20° in every 1° increments.

Nonlinear Vibration of Buckled Beams
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1972The steady state response and stability of free and forced vibration of simply supported, axially restrained, buckled beams is investigated. The equations of motion dealing with the buckled state include the effect of an initial displacement either by initial load or by initial temperature. By an assumed mode solution, the response and stability of two

Nonlinear Buckling and Stability of Cylindrical Panels
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 1979The problem of the buckling of a simply supported thin, elastic, cylindrical panel subjected to a uniform axial compression is studied by constructive methods. In the case of “narrow” panels we obtain near the classical buckling load $\lambda _1 $ a description of all stable and unstable buckled states which branch from the unbuckled state at $\lambda ...

Nonlinear Asymmetric Buckling of Truncated Spherical Shells
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1970This paper is concerned with the theoretical study of buckling of truncated spherical shells. Sander’s nonlinear equations for deep shells are used and the equations of equilibrium are expressed in terms of displacements for spherical shells. Based on these equations, analyses are made for calculating prebuckling axisymmetric equilibrium positions and ...
