Fatigue damage quantitative evaluation of carbon fiber composites at different stress ratios based on nonlinear ultrasonic

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
In order to investigate the fatigue behavior of carbon fiber composites and the influence of different stress levels on their fatigue damage characteristics, the fatigue experiments of carbon fiber composites under different stress ratios are carried out.

Investigation of nonlinear absorption processes with femtosecond light pulses in lithium niobate crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The propagation of high-power femtosecond light pulses in lithium niobate crystals (LiNbO3) is investigated experimentally and theoretically in collinear pump-probe transmission experiments.

Coefficient body for nonlinear resolvents

open access: yesAnnales Universitatis Mariae Curie-Sklodowska, sectio A – Mathematica, 2020
This paper is devoted to the study of families of so-called nonlinear resolvents. Namely, we construct polynomial transformations which map the closed unit polydisks onto the coefficient bodies for the resolvent families. As immediate applications of our results we present a covering theorem and a sharp estimate for the Schwarzian derivative at zero on

Nonlinear photoacoustics for measuring the nonlinear optical absorption coefficient

open access: yesOptics Express, 2010
We report a novel photoacoustic Z-scan (PAZ-scan) technique that combines the advantages offered by the conventional Z-scan method and the sensitivity of the photoacoustic detection. The sample is scanned through the focused laser beam and the generated photoacoustic signal is recorded using a 10 MHz focused ultrasound transducer.

Fast and accurate modelling of nonlinear pulse propagation in graded-index multimode fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We develop a model for the description of nonlinear pulse propagation in multimode optical fibers with a parabolic refractive index profile. It consists in a 1+1D generalized nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation with a periodic nonlinear coefficient, which ...

Nonlinear transport coefficients from large deviation functions [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2019
Nonlinear response occurs naturally when a strong perturbation takes a system far from equilibrium. Despite its omnipresence in nanoscale systems, it is difficult to predict in a general and efficient way. Here, we introduce a way to compute arbitrarily high order transport coefficients of stochastic systems, using the framework of large deviation ...

The Nonlinear Effective Attenuation Coefficient of Spaceborne Oceanic Lidar Signal [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
Multiple scattering is an inevitable effect in spaceborne oceanic lidar because of the large footprint size and the high optical density of seawater. The effective attenuation coefficient klidar in oceanic lidar equation, which indicates the influence of

Highly nondegenerate four-wave mixing and gain nonlinearity in a strained multiple-quantum-well optical amplifier [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Highly nondegenerate four-wave mixing was investigated in a 1.5 µm compressively strained multi-quantum-well semiconductor traveling-wave optical amplifier at detuning frequencies up to 600 GHz.

Entanglement and squeezing in continuous-variable systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce a multi-mode squeezing coefficient to characterize entanglement in $N$-partite continuous-variable systems. The coefficient relates to the squeezing of collective observables in the $2N$-dimensional phase space and can be readily extracted ...
