Feedback and nonlinear distortion
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1981The effect of linear negative feedback on the normalized coefficients of a power series is evaluated. For large loop gain, desensitization tends to proceed with the power of the particular closed-loop term.

Calculation of nonlinear distortion products
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1968When one or more sinusoidal waves pass through a nonlinear device, the output contains harmonic and product tones in addition to tones of the same frequencies as those in the input. A method is presented whereby the amplitudes of distortion products of various forms can be quickly and easily obtained from single-tone characteristics.

Advanced Digital Nonlinear Distortion Compensation
Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2015We review the recent progresses on the nonlinear perturbation pre-distortion including the modified nonlinear model for performance improvement and nonlinear terms combination for complexity reduction. With Nyquist nonlinear model, the performance shows even more improvement.

Unbiased reconstruction of nonlinear distortions
IMTC/2002. Proceedings of the 19th IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (IEEE Cat. No.00CH37276), 2003When a signal goes through a system having a static, nonlinear transfer function, the output signal will be distorted. In addition, the detected output signal is usually contaminated by noise, due to the noisy environment. If we compensate the nonlinearity with its inverse, the expected value of the output signal will be different from it's original ...

Nonlinear independent component analysis with minimal nonlinear distortion
Proceedings of the 24th international conference on Machine learning, 2007Nonlinear ICA may not result in nonlinear blind source separation, since solutions to nonlinear ICA are highly non-unique. In practice, the nonlinearity in the data generation procedure is usually not strong. Thus it is reasonable to select the solution with the mixing procedure close to linear. In this paper we propose to solve nonlinear ICA with the "

Signal Distortion in Nonlinear Feedback Systems
Bell System Technical Journal, 1963This paper reports on some properties of the solutions to the functional equation $s_{2}(t) = \varphi[{\bf C}s_{2}(t) + s_{1}(t)],$ where ϕ is a nonlinear function, the operator C is a convolution, and s 1 is a known function belonging to a prescribed Banach space.

Nonlinear Digital Pre-distortion of Transmitter Components
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2016We present a linear and nonlinear digital predistortion (DPD) tailored to the components of an optical transmitter. The DPD concept uses nonlinear models of the transmitter devices, which are obtained from direct component measurements. While the digital-to-analog converter and driver amplifier are modeled jointly by a Volterra series, the modulator is

More on nonlinear distortion correction
IRE Transactions on Audio, 1961Further consideration is given to basic amplitude limitations which may apply to the complementary distortion method of nonlinear distortion correction. It is found, in disagreement with others, that points at which the differential gain is zero or infinite do not limit the amplitude over which complete correction is possible but that relative maxima ...

"Apparent bass" and nonlinear distortion
IRE Transactions on Audio, 1961A discrepancy between the "apparent bass" response heard by the average music listener and anechoic-chamber measurements has been noted for some small loudspeaker systems. This may be caused by the psychoacoustic response to the generation of harmonic distortion by the nonlinear suspension and the inhomogeneous flux gap density in a small speaker.
