Analytical approximation of nonlinear distortions

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2005
We present an analytical approximation that can describe the signal at the output of a nonlinear fiber, accounting for the distortions induced by the interplay between chromatic dispersion and Kerr nonlinearity. The obtained results agree well with the split-step Fourier method for launch powers as high as 10 dBm.

Analyses of LED nonlinear distortions

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1978
This paper treats LED nonlinear distortions of differential gain (DG) and differential phase (DP) theoretically. Possible origins and numerical analyses are presented for Al/sub x/ Ga/sub 1-x/As LED's, considering various junction structure; double-heterostructure, single-heterostructure, and homostructure. It is shown that homostructure is superior to

On the Nonlinear Distortion Effects in Nonlinear Distortion Effects in

2006 International Conference on Emerging Technologies, 2006
Radio over fiber (RoF) system is a promising technique for microcell and picocell applications for deployment of future ubiquitous wireless data networks. However, the performance of RoF systems can be severely degraded due to nonlinear effects in the channel. Also, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), as a standard for broadband wireless

Nonlinear distortions and multisine signals. II. Minimizing the distortion

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2000
For Pt. I see ibid. vol. 49, pp. 602-609, 2000. This paper examines the effects of nonlinear distortions on frequency response functions estimated using multisine test signals. The aim is to minimize the distortion introduced by the nonlinearity, for a given input power constraint.

Compensating out-of-band nonlinear distortions

2010 IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Technology Conference Proceedings, 2010
In this paper a method is proposed to compensate for the nonlinear distortions present in the input signal of a DUT which results in a source-pull free level of the output nonlinear distortions. This allows to determine an accurate adjacent co-channel power ratio (ACPR).

Nonlinear distortions of rotating chiral solitons

Physical Review D, 1988
We show that the rotation in isospace of a chiral soliton induces nonlinear distortions of the chiral field leading to a band cutoff phenomenon. In models in which quarks are coupled to the chiral field, this band cutoff is caused by the alignment of the quark isospins about the rotation axis, which induces a corresponding change in the symmetry of the

Nonlinear FM Distortion Equalizer

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978
A new approach to FM distortion equalization is suggested and a nonlinear equalizer operating in the baseband frequency range is presented. It is shown that, using analog multipliers and differentiators, a baseband equalizer can be designed which eliminates all types of distortion products.

Nonlinear Distortion in Modern Hearing Aids

Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, 1967
Nonlinear distortion was investigated in 367 new hearing aids. Among the first group of instruments examined, the level of harmonic distortion present at 500, 700, and 900 Hz was studied, together with the frequency and extent of maximum distortion. Ear-level instruments generally yielded lower distortion values than did body types.

Nonlinear distortion reduction by complementary distortion

IRE Transactions on Audio, 1959
Nonlinear distortion produced in a given circuit can be reduced by pre- or postdistorting the signal applied to or from the circuit. Such complementary distortion cannot reduce the original distortion to zero in practice because of distortion of distortion, but it can result in greatly reduced output distortion over a limited amplitude range.
