Inhomogeneities in Glass: From Defects to Functional Nanostructures

open access: yesEncyclopedia
Glass inhomogeneities represent variations in the structural or compositional uniformity of glass, traditionally associated with process-related defects such as striae, bubbles, stones, and inclusions that impair transparency and mechanical stability ...

Anti-periodic extremal problems for a class of nonlinear evolution inclusions in R N [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2014
From the abstract: ``The aim of this paper is to establish the existence of anti-periodic solutions to the following nonlinear anti-periodic problem: \[ \begin{gathered}\dot{x}+A(t,x)\in Ext F(t,x) \text{ a.e. } t\in I, \\ x(T)=-x(0)\end{gathered} \] in \(\mathbb R^n\), where \(Ext F(t,x)\) denotes the extremal point set of the multifunction \(F(t,x)\),

Parametrized relaxation for evolution inclusions of the subdifferential type [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
summary:In this paper we consider parametric nonlinear evolution inclusions driven by time-dependent subdifferentials. First we prove some continuous dependence results for the solution set (of both the convex and nonconvex problems) and for the set of ...

Evolution Inclusions and Variation Inequalities for Earth Data Processing I [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Here, the authors present modern mathematical methods to solve problems of differential-operator inclusions and evolution variation inequalities which may occur in fields such as geophysics, aerohydrodynamics, or fluid dynamics.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

On Periodic Solutions of Multivalued Nonlinear Evolution Equations

open access: yes, 1996
In this paper first we prove a new existence theorem for periodic solutions of finite dimensional differential inclusions. Then we use this result and Galerkin approximations to establish the existence of periodic trajectories for a class of nonlinear ...

Brainstem and Cerebellar Volume Loss and Associated Clinical Features in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.

Nonlinear Volterra integrodifferential evolution inclusions and optimal control [PDF]

open access: yesKodai Mathematical Journal, 1991
Volterra integrodifferential evolution inclusions of nonconvolutory type with time dependent unbounded operators and with both convex and nonconvex multivalued perturbations are studied. The results obtained are applied to distributed parameter optimal control problems. By assuming suitable assumptions on the operator \(A\) and on the multifunction \(F\

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.
