The synthesis of thyroid hormones in the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis was studied. For this purpose, a reaction model for HPT axis with stoichiometric relations between the main reaction species was postulated. An examination of a rectangular cavity with a length-to-depth ratio of 5.67 was tested at Mach 0.7 and 1.5 with corresponding Reynolds numbers of 6.49×106 and 7.35×106/m, respectively. High-speed shadowgraph movies were simultaneously sampled with dynamic pressure sensors at 75 kHz.
