Identification Approach for Nonlinear MIMO Dynamics of Closed-Loop Active Magnetic Bearing System

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
A systematic identification approach for the rotor/radial active magnetic bearing (rotor/RAMB) system is presented in this study. First, the system identification of the controller of commercial TMP is undertaken, and the corresponding linear dynamic ...

Variational system identification for nonlinear state-space models

open access: yesAutomatica, 2023
This paper considers parameter estimation for nonlinear state-space models, which is an important but challenging problem. We address this challenge by employing a variational inference (VI) approach, which is a principled method that has deep connections to maximum likelihood estimation.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

The McCance Brain Care Score and Mortality: Evidence From a Large‐Scale Population‐Based Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationship between the McCance Brain Care Score (BCS) and mortality in the general population. Methods We conducted a prospective, population‐based cohort study using data from the UK Biobank. Participants with complete data enabling calculation of BCS and full mortality information were included ...

Neural Modeling and Control of Diesel Engine with Pollution Constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The paper describes a neural approach for modelling and control of a turbocharged Diesel engine. A neural model, whose structure is mainly based on some physical equations describing the engine behaviour, is built for the rotation speed and the exhaust ...

Identification of nonlinear-nonlinear neuron models and stimulus decoding [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Neuroscience, 2013
The majority of neural encoding models employed today consist of a linear feature-selection stage followed by a static memoryless nonlinearity generating the neuronal rate of response. Although such linear-nonlinear (LN) models have been proven useful in characterizing computation in many neurons (see [1] and references therein), they exclude the ...

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

Active vibration control using nonlinear auto-regressive neural network to identify secondary channel

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2023
The power unit on board the ship generates periodic low-frequency vibration that affects the normal operation of the equipment on board, and the adaptive feedforward control algorithm can effectively suppress such harmful vibration noise.
