The Periodic Solutions to Kawahara Equation by Means of the Auxiliary Equation with a Sixth-Degree Nonlinear Term

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2013
It is well known that different types of exact solutions of an auxiliary equation produce new types of exact travelling wave solutions to nonlinear equations.

Nonlinear Boundary Value Problems for Ordinary Differential Equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1994
A nonlinear vector boundary value problem of the form (1) \(y'= f(x,y)\), (2) \(B(y)= r\) is considered. Results are presented in which it is shown that solutions \(u(x)\) of (1), (2) can be differentiated with respect to the components of \(r\). These partial derivatives are then shown to be solutions of certain linear boundary value problems.

Simplifying coefficients in a family of nonlinear ordinary differential equations

open access: yesActa et Commentationes Universitatis Tartuensis de Mathematica, 2019
By virtue of the Faá di Bruno formula, properties of the Stirling numbers and the Bell polynomials of the second kind, the binomial inversion formula, and other techniques in combinatorial analysis, the author finds a simple, meaningful, and signicant expression for coefficients in a family of nonlinear ordinary differential equations.

Oscillation of solutions to nonlinear forced fractional differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, we study the oscillation of solutions to a nonlinear forced fractional differential equation. The fractional derivative is defined in the sense of the modified Riemann-Liouville derivative.
