Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) in Tendon Regeneration: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) offers a promising solution by replicating the native tendon microenvironment and promoting regeneration. This review highlights advances in the decellularization methods, as well as their integration with emerging technologies and translational progress in tendon tissue engineering.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Multiwavelength Brillouin-Thulium Fiber Laser

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
We demonstrate the first multiwavelength Brillouin-thulium fiber laser (BTFL) with wavelengths near 1.97 μm. The multiwavelength fiber laser was realized based on stimulated Brillouin scattering and nonlinear polarization rotation effects.

The impact of saturable absorber recovery time on hybrid mode-locked fiber lasers with near zero net dispersion

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2023
The hybrid mode-locking scheme holds great potential in obtaining high power ultrashort laser source since it overcomes low damage threshold, self-starting difficulty in single real saturable absorber (SA) or artificial SA mode-locking scheme.

Low-frequency vacuum squeezing via polarization self-rotation in Rb vapor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We observed squeezed vacuum light at 795 nm in 87Rb vapor via resonant polarization self-rotation, and report noise sidebands suppression of ~1 dB below shot noise level spanning from acoustic (30 kHz) to MHz frequencies.

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Generation of all-fiber optical Manchester code using nonlinear polarization rotation

open access: yesOptics Express, 2006
We experimentally demonstrate all-fiber optical Manchester code generation at 10 Gbit/s using nonlinear polarization rotation in a single 1- km highly-nonlinear fiber with the nonlinearity of 20.4 W-1km-1. 33-dB extinction ratio is achieved in a -4-dBm CW dummy channel by coinjecting orthogonally aligned two 8-dBm pumps into the Kerr medium.

Production and detection of atomic hexadecapole at Earth's magnetic field

open access: yes, 2007
Anisotropy of atomic states is characterized by population differences and coherences between Zeeman sublevels. It can be efficiently created and probed via resonant interactions with light, the technique which is at the heart of modern atomic clocks and

Intelligent Acousto‐Electrical Metamaterials (IAM) for Sound Source Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Our proposed metamaterial concept enables sound source detection using a single material, in contrast to conventional arrays that require dozens or even hundreds of transducers. We show that the coupled acoustic–vibrational–electrical responses in piezoelectric metamaterials give rise to topology‐governed charge transport, producing distinct voltage ...

Nonlinear polarization rotation based 635 nm praseodymium doped mode-locked fiber laser

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
We demonstrated a mode-locked fiber laser oscillator using nonlinear polarization rotation as a saturable absorption system. The fiber laser generates mode-locked pulses by adjusting four waveplates. A single-clad Pr ^3+ -doped single mode fluoride fiber
