Parametric Elliptical Regression Quantiles

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2020
The article extends linear and nonlinear quantile regression to the case of vector responses by generalizing multivariate elliptical quantiles to a regression context.

Overdispersed Nonlinear Regression Models

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics
In this paper we propose nonlinear regression models in the biparametric family of distributions. In this class of models we propose two new classes of overdispersed nonlinear regression models: the first, defined from the overdispersion family of ...

Wave regression: nonlinear cognitive heuristic

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики
The quality of regression is determined by the choice of an approximation function, more or less accurately reflecting the process which generated the data. An important class of such processes is cognitive processes of largely wave nature.

Intervalo hídrico ótimo na avaliação de sistemas de pastejo contínuo e rotacionado Least limiting water range in the evaluation of continuous and short-duration grazing systems

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

A note on the maximum likelihood estimator in the gamma regression model [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2009
This paper considers a nonlinear regression model, in which the dependent variable has the gamma distribution. A model is considered in which the shape parameter of the random variable is the sum of continuous and algebraically independent functions. The

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.
