Progressive collapse scenario in steel structures with irregularity in height

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2021
the overload caused by removal of these elements can cause damage and Progressive Collapse (PC) in structures. Therefore, the effect of sudden column removal and structural capacity against PC scenarios in medium and high-rise buildings is investigated ...

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

On the performance of a nonlinear vibration isolator consisting of axially loaded curved beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A desirable characteristic for nonlinear vibration isolators is a high static stiffness and a low dynamic stiffness. A curved beam is a possible candidate for this role provided that the amplitude of vibration about the static equilibrium position is ...

Clinical and Modifiable Factors Associated With Disability and Relapse in MOGAD: A Multicentre Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Factors associated with relapse course and disability in myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody‐associated disease (MOGAD) remain incompletely understood. Objectives To identify clinical and modifiable factors associated with relapse and disability in MOGAD. Methods In this ambispective multicentre cohort study using data from

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Synchronization for a class of generalized neural networks with interval time-varying delays and reaction-diffusion terms

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, the synchronization problem for a class of generalized neural networks with interval time-varying delays and reaction-diffusion terms is investigated under Dirichlet boundary conditions and Neumann boundary conditions, respectively.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for
