From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

CRE Solvability, Exact Soliton-Cnoidal Wave Interaction Solutions, and Nonlocal Symmetry for the Modified Boussinesq Equation

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2016
It is proved that the modified Boussinesq equation is consistent Riccati expansion (CRE) solvable; two types of special soliton-cnoidal wave interaction solution of the equation are explicitly given, which is difficult to be found by other traditional ...

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

GPU Based Modelling and Analysis for Parallel Fractional Order Derivative Model of the Spiral-Plate Heat Exchanger

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
Heat exchangers are commonly used in various industries. A spiral-plate heat exchanger with two fluids is a compact plant that only requires a small space and is excellent in high heat transfer efficiency.

Molecular imaging predicts trastuzumab‐deruxtecan (T‐DXd) response in head and neck cancer xenograft models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Variable Structure Control of Second Order Systems With Nonlinear Uncertain Discontinuous Input Functions Using Approximate Inverses

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
We consider second order nonlinear systems in control canonical form, where the functional relation between the control variable and the system acceleration is nonlinear, uncertain and discontinuous.

Cytomegalovirus infection is common in prostate cancer and antiviral therapies inhibit progression in disease models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...

Simple Sliding Mode Controller with Adaptive Fuzzy Saturation Function for Nonlinear Single Input-Single Output System [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2010
Sliding mode control algorithm that uses fuzzy saturation function is designed inthis paper for nonlinear system. The fuzzy saturation function is suggested to improvethe accuracy and the robustness of the sliding mode control which are partially ...

Theory of nonlinear systems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Franklin Institute, 1983
Abstract This paper gives a general review of the Theory of Nonlinear Systems. In 1960, the author presented a paper “Theory of Nonlinear Control” at the First IFAC Congress at Moscow. Professor Norbert Wiener, who attended this Congress, drew attention to his work on the synthesis and analysis of nonlinear systems in terms of Hermitian polynomials ...
