Flexible Pressure Sensor With Co‐Optimized Sensitivity and Linearity Based on Gradient Toroidal Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible piezoresistive pressure sensor with gradient toroidal CNT/PDMS microstructures is reported. The hierarchical geometry enables sequential electrode contact, achieving a sensitivity of 256.20 kPa−1 and linear response (R2 = 0.99) over 0–1000 kPa.

Micromachined Double‐Membrane Mechanically Tunable Metamaterial for Thermal Infrared Filtering

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Herein, a mechanically tunable double‐layer plasmonic metamaterial leveraging the extraordinary optical transmission effect observed in subwavelength arrays of openings within thin metal layers is presented. The concept is experimentally validated by integrating the proposed metamaterial structure into an electrostatic parallel‐plate actuator to create

Nonlinear System Identification

open access: yesMeasurement Science and Technology, 2002
This is a comprehensive book discussing several methods for the identification of nonlinear systems. Identification is extremely relevant in applications and only recently has much ongoing research addressed the pressing problem of identifying systems with nonlinearities.

Nonlinear System Identification: A User-Oriented Road Map [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Control Systems, 2019
Nonlinear system identification is an extremely broad topic, since every system that is not linear is nonlinear. That makes it impossible to give a full overview of all aspects of the fi eld.

Wiener–Hammerstein nonlinear system identification using spectral analysis

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2022
In this paper, a new approach is developed for the identification of Wiener–Hammerstein model structures. Unlike several other papers, the transfer functions of linear elements are of unknown structure.

Measurement and identification of the nonlinear dynamics of a jointed structure using full-field data; Part II - Nonlinear system identification

Mechanical systems and signal processing, 2022
The dynamic responses of assembled structures are greatly affected by the mechanical joints, which are often the cause of nonlinear behavior. To better understand and, in the future, tailor the nonlinearities, accurate methods are needed to characterize ...

Hierarchical iterative identification algorithms for a nonlinear system with dead‐zone and saturation nonlinearity based on the auxiliary model

International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, 2023
This paper investigates the identification problem of an output‐error nonlinear system with saturation and dead‐zone nonlinearity. Introducing a switching function and by means of the auxiliary model identification idea, an auxiliary model hierarchical ...

Three Benchmarks Addressing Open Challenges in Nonlinear System Identification

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2017
Nonlinear system identification is a fast evolving field of research with contributions from different communities. It is not always straightforward to compare different models and identification approaches.

On the Identification of Nonlinear Systems

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1982
Abstract For the identification of systems in which the nonlinear element is in the feedback path, a new technique based on the Volterra characterisation of nonlinear system, is presented. The method is shown to have distinct computational advantages. Simulation studies using the proposed method are given.
