A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Finite-time stochastic input-to-state stability and observer-based controller design for singular nonlinear systems

open access: yes, 2020
This paper investigated observer-based controller for a class of singular nonlinear systems with state and exogenous disturbance-dependent noise. A new sufficient condition for finite-time stochastic input-to-state stability (FTSISS) of stochastic ...

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Modeling nonlinear systems using multiple piecewise linear equations

open access: yes, 2010
This paper describes a technique for modeling nonlinear systems using multiple piecewise linear equations. The technique provides a means for linearizing the nonlinear system in such a way as to not limit the large signal behavior of the  ...

Model reduction of weakly nonlinear systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In general, model reduction techniques fall into two categories — moment —matching and Krylov techniques and balancing techniques. The present contribution is concerned with the former.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Quantization of Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 1960
A direct method of quantization, applicable to a given nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equation, is indicated. From such classical equations alone, without a given Lagrangian or Hamiltonian, or a priori linear reference system such as a bare or incoming field, a quantized field is constructed, satisfying the conventional commutation relations.
