The Effect of the Vertical Component of the Earthquake on a Regular Masonry Wall

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The effect of the vertical component of earthquakes on the structural behaviour of unreinforced masonry (URM) walls is usually not considered by technical codes for ordinary buildings.

On the stability and Hopf bifurcation of the non-zero uniform endemic equilibrium of a time-delayed malaria model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This article considers a time-delayed mathematical model of immune response to Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) malaria. Infected red blood cells display a wide variety of surface antigens to which the body in turn responds by mounting specific ...

Nonlinear Time History Analysis of Anti Seismic Device on Highway Bridges

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advances in Scientific Research and Engineering, 2020
There are many earthquake suppression technologies offered by experts, one of them is the use of Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB) in civil buildings. LRB works by reducing the dynamic load acting on a bridge caused by seismic loads. It diverts the load that works through the dynamic system by maintaining a balance between the force and displacement that ...

Improved synchronization analysis of competitive neural networks with time-varying delays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Synchronization and control are two very important aspects of any dynamical systems. Among various kinds of nonlinear systems, competitive neural network holds a very important place due to its application in diverse fields.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Assessment of Tension-Only Concentrically Braced Steel Frames in Relation to Seismic Pounding

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This research examined the phenomenon of pounding between neighboring steel structures, both with and without tension-only braces, utilizing an extensive nonlinear time-history analysis.

An efficient new iterative method for finding exact solutions of nonlinear time-fractional partial differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, a new iterative method (NIM) is used to obtain the exact solutions of some nonlinear time-fractional partial differential equations. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. The method provides a convergent series with

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Evaluating Seismic Isolation Design: Simplified Linear Methods vs. Nonlinear Time-History Analysis

open access: yesDesigns
Seismic isolation is a vital strategy for improving the earthquake resilience of structures, utilizing flexible components such as lead–rubber bearings (LRBs) and curved surface sliders (CSSs) to attenuate ground motion effects.
