Multivariate Nonlinear Analysis and Prediction of Shanghai Stock Market
This study attempts to characterize and predict stock returns series in Shanghai stock exchange using the concepts of nonlinear dynamical theory. Surrogate data method of multivariate time series shows that all the stock returns time series exhibit ...

On the Identifiability Conditions in Some Nonlinear Time Series Models
In this study, we consider the identifiability problem for nonlinear time series models. Special attention is paid to smooth transition GARCH, nonlinear Poisson autoregressive, and multiple regime smooth transition autoregressive models. Some sufficient

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Nonlinear mechanical system identification method using auto-regression time series analysis
In this paper, we discussed the geometrically nonlinear system identification technology using auto regressive time series analysis. We focused on the transient response from large amplitude to small amplitude.

Revisiting nonlinearity of heart rate variability in healthy aging
Aging is commonly regarded as a physiological process in which the dynamic complexity of physiological time series and organ systems is gradually lost. This notion is derived from the identification of a decline of nonlinear measures with the advance of ...

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...
