Sono‐Mechanogenetics: Linking Ultrasound Physics With Cellular Mechanobiology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sono‐mechanogenetics links ultrasound physics with cellular mechanotransduction to enable noninvasive control of engineered biological systems. Acoustic forces generate distinct deformation modes that activate intracellular signaling pathways, which can be coupled to synthetic gene circuits to regulate diverse cellular functions, including gene ...

Dual Physiological Barriers Bypassed by a Silk‐Based Supramolecular Protein Delivery Platform for Neuroinflammation Mitigation in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A supramolecular nanocomplex based on phenolic‐modified silk sericin is developed to deliver antioxidant enzymes across the blood–brain barrier and escape lysosomal degradation. This dual‐barrier‐crossing system reduces neuroinflammation and improves cognitive performance in Alzheimer's disease mouse model, offering a promising strategy for protein ...

Effect of bubble shell nonlinearity on ultrasound nonlinear propagation through microbubble populations.

open access: yes, 2011
Nonlinear propagation of ultrasound through microbubble populations can generate artifacts and reduce contrast to tissue ratio in ultrasound imaging. The existing propagation model, which underestimates harmonic generation by an order of magnitude, was ...

Flexible Unusual Ternary‐Component Graded‐Modulus Dielectric Films with High‐Density Capacitive Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hierarchical PP–LSR107–BaTiO3 nanocomposite films are fabricated by one‐step extrusion and stretching for roll‐to‐roll manufacture, combining high energy storage and processing flexibility. LSR107 surrounds BaTiO3‐rich regions, locating amorphous PP, decreasing defects, and introducing deep traps that homogenize the electric field and suppress charge ...

Nonlinear propagation of ultrasound through microbubble clouds: A novel numerical implementation

open access: yes, 2007
Nonlinear propagation of ultrasound can cause imaging errors in the context of medical ultrasound with microbubble ultrasound contrast agents. Modelling nonlinear propagation of ultrasound through a microbubble cloud is therefore essential for simulating
