RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

The Risk of Cancer Associated with Immunosuppressive Therapy for Skin Diseases [PDF]
The possible carcinogenic risk of immunosuppressive therapies is an important issue in everyday clinical practise. Carcinogenesis is a slow multi step procedure, thus a long latency period is needed before cancer develops.

Cancer risk among patients with cystic fibrosis and their first-degree relatives
Patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) are at increased risk of some cancers. Little is known about the cancer risks among carriers heterozygous for the CF mutation and it is hypothesized this may be associated with reduced cancer risk. Using Swedish general

MicroRNA expression differs in cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas and healthy skin of immunocompetent individuals [PDF]
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is one of the most common skin cancers, but the influence of microRNA (miRNA) expression has only been sporadically analysed.

A Noninvasive Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor for Early Detection of Basal Cell Carcinoma
We present a noninvasive surface plasmon resonance sensor with improved sensitivity for early basal cell carcinoma detection. It uses a chalcogenide prism Kretschmann setup with multilayers of gold, graphene, silver, gratings, MXene, and sensing medium.

Increased expression of CD24 in nonmelanoma skin cancer
Background Skin cancer detection is based on the macroscopic and microscopic appearance of the lesions and the experience of the surgeon. The final diagnosis is done by pathological analysis, based on established criteria.

Urinary microbiota diversity and composition in patients with advanced renal cell cancer
Abstract Objectives This study aims to investigate the role of urinary microbiota in renal cell carcinoma; we analysed urinary microbiota in kidney cancer patients and explored its potential role as biomarker. Subjects and methods Samples were collected from 49 males (28 patients planned to undergo systemic therapy and 21 healthy volunteers).
