ABSTRACT This paper further develops the Automatic Workout Mortgage (AWM) which embeds an insurance put option to reduce negative equity, systemic risk and promote economic recovery. We introduce a mathematical model showing that AWM raises household utility and increases housing demand.

The major thrust of this proposal was to continue our investigations of so-called non-standard finite-difference schemes as formulated by other authors. These schemes do not follow the standard rules used to model continuous differential equations by discrete difference equations.

Aggregation and the Structure of Value
ABSTRACT Roughly, the view I call “Additivism” sums up value across time and people. Given some standard assumptions, I show that Additivism follows from two principles. The first says that how lives align in time cannot, in itself, matter. The second says, roughly, that a world cannot be better unless it is better within some period or another.

ABSTRACT The use of nonstandard methods to characterize properties of weak, strong and mixed extensions of congruences to ultrafilters has been the main topic of several recent papers, focused mostly on congruences and divisions. We show that similar methods can be used to extend these characterizations to arbitrary relations and their interplay.
