Multitype Game Optimisation: A Two‐Stage Fine‐Tuning Framework for Multi‑Game Optimisation With Large Language Models

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Large language models (LLMs) have made remarkable advances in natural language processing, demonstrating great potential in modelling structured sequences. However, adapting these capabilities to machine gaming tasks such as Go remains challenging due to limitations in strategy generalisation and optimisation efficiency.

Integrating Merit and Equality to Address Gender Inequality at Work

open access: yesGender, Work &Organization, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although the extant literature provides a comprehensive account of workplace gender inequalities, the mechanisms that produce inequalities, and the underlying assumptions and principles of those mechanisms, remain opaque. The concept of “merit,” although morally persuasive and ubiquitous in organizational contexts, is a significant point of ...

A Non‐Parametric Framework for Correlation Functions on Product Metric Spaces

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary We propose a non‐parametric framework for analysing data defined over products of metric spaces, a versatile class encountered in various fields. This framework accommodates non‐stationarity and seasonality and is applicable to both local and global domains, such as the Earth's surface, as well as domains evolving over linear time or time ...

A topological approach to non-archimedean mathematics

open access: yes, 2016
Non-Archimedean mathematics (in particular, nonstandard analysis) allows to construct some useful models to study certain phenomena arising in PDE’s; for example, it allows to construct generalized solutions of differential equations and variational ...

Never, Ever Getting Started: On Prospect Theory Without Commitment

open access: yesMathematical Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Prospect theory is arguably the most prominent alternative to expected utility theory. We study the investment or gambling behavior of a prospect theory decision maker who is aware of his time‐inconsistency but lacks commitment. For the empirically relevant prospect theory specifications, we obtain the extreme prediction that such a decision ...

On distributions of record ranges in nonstandard situations

open access: yes, 2017
The record theory is an important part of the probability theory and mathematical statistics and has many applications in various fields of knowledge.

Structure and Computation

open access: yesNoûs, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT It is a truism of mathematics that differences between isomorphic number systems are irrelevant to arithmetic. This truism is deeply rooted in the modern axiomatic method and underlies most strands of arithmetical structuralism, the view that arithmetic is about some abstract number structure.

Aggregation and the Structure of Value

open access: yesNoûs, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Roughly, the view I call “Additivism” sums up value across time and people. Given some standard assumptions, I show that Additivism follows from two principles. The first says that how lives align in time cannot, in itself, matter. The second says, roughly, that a world cannot be better unless it is better within some period or another.

Dynamically consistent nonstandard finite difference schemes for epidemiological models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This work is the numerical analysis and computational companion of the paper by Kamgang and Sallet [J.C. Kamgang, G. Sallet, Computation of threshold conditions for epidemiological models and global stability of the disease free equilibrium (DFE ...
