The Diminished Trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This Article thus highlights the need for a much larger inquiry into not only what is happening to trials but also what is happening in those that remain.

Genome‐Wide Association Study of Symptom Change Following Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Common Mental Disorders

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a well‐established, evidence‐based treatment for common mental disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD). However, treatment outcomes vary widely, and a substantial proportion of patients do not achieve sufficient improvement.

Removal of Crystal Violet Dye from Aqueous Solutions onto Date Palm Fiber by Adsorption Technique

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2013
The adsorption of crystal violet (CV) onto date palm fibers (DPFs) was examined in aqueous solution at 25°C. The experimental maximum adsorption capacity value was 0.66×10−6.

Testing a DBI model for the unification of dark matter and dark energy with Gamma-Ray Bursts

open access: yes, 2012
We study the range of consistency of a model based on a nonlinear scalar field Dirac-Born-Infeld action for the unification of dark matter and dark energy using Gamma-Ray Bursts at high-redshifts.

The $B_c$ mass up to order $\alpha_s^4$

open access: yes, 2000
We evaluate in perturbative QCD, up to order $\alpha_s^4$, the mass of the $B_c$. We use the so-called 1S-mass in order to improve the convergence of the perturbative series. Our result is $E(B_c)_{pert} = 6326^{+29}_{-9}$ MeV.

Are There Causal Associations Between Obsessive‐Compulsive Disorder and Cardiometabolic Phenotypes? A Genetic Correlation and Bi‐Directional Mendelian Randomization Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In epidemiological studies, obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD) is robustly associated with increased risk of cardiometabolic disorders, including cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. However, the mechanisms behind these associations are unclear. We conducted genetic correlation analyses to explore shared genetic etiology and

Culturally Safe Assistive Technology Provision in Australia: Concept Mapping Perspectives From Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Disparities in Assistive Technology (AT) access exist for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples despite recent policy reforms. This paper brings together First Nations and Western academic ways of being, knowing and doing to deliver an AT practice analysis based upon primary data from two research reports into the cultural safety of AT

Expression profiles of histone H4K20 methylation and its associated enzymes in mouse cardiac disease and human heart failure

open access: yesEpigenetics
Histone H4K20 methylation is critical in regulating the cell cycle, DNA damage response, and gene repression in proliferating cells. However, its role in the heart remains poorly understood.
