Determination of Norethindrone Stability on Red Delicious Apples

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1990
A stability-indicating assay procedure for the determination of norethindrone on the surface of Red Delicious apple slices was developed. The apple slice is homogenized in pH 10 borate buffer solution and norethindrone is then partitioned into chloroform using a diffusion chamber that has a membrane that is permeable to hydrophobic compounds separating

A simple high-throughput enzymeimmunoassay for norethisterone (Norethindrone)

Contraception, 1982
A direct enzymeimmunoassay having the sensitivity required for determining norethisterone concentrations in small aliquots of plasma (10 microliter) has been developed. This assay featured a solid phase antiserum raised against a norethisterone-11 alpha-hemisuccinyl/bovine serum albumin conjugate. The antiserum was coupled to cyanogen bromide-activated

Contraception With Norethindrone 0.35 mg Administered Continuously

Southern Medical Journal, 1976
Microdose norethindrone (0.35 mg taken each day without interruption) was used as an oral contraceptive agent by 168 women for 4,264 months over a five-year span. Seven pregnancies occurred with regular use and two with irregular use, resulting in a drug-effectiveness rate of 1.9 and a use-effectiveness rate of 2.5 per 100 woman-years. Cycle length was

Side Effects of Cyclic Therapy with Norethindrone and Mestranol

Fertility and Sterility, 1965
Preliminary findings of the side effects in cyclic therapy of the oral contraceptive Ortho-Novum (5 mg norethindrone and 75 mcg mestranol) in 273 patients are presented. 221 clinic patients and 52 private patie nts completed a total of 1907 and 786 cycles respectively.

[Pharmacokinetics of norethindrone-3-oxime and norethindrone in rhesus monkeys].

Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 1991
After intravenous administration or nasal feeding of (6, 7-3H)-labelled norethindrone-3-oxime (NETO) or norethindrone (NET) to rhesus monkeys, the serum concentrations were determined by measuring the radioactivity after separation with HPLC. The serum concentrations of total extractable radioactivity were also measured without HPLC separation.

The effects of norethindrone on the mullerian ducts of the American alligator

General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1991
Norethindrone, a reported aromatase inhibitor, has been used to examine the role of estrogens in the unilateral regression of the mullerian ducts that occurs in female chick embryos. The mullerian ducts are embryonic oviducts that regress in most male vertebrates under the influence of the testicular hormone, mullerian inhibiting substance (MIS).

Continuous norethindrone, 0.35 mg., as an oral contraceptive agent

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1971
Abstract Norethindrone 0.35 mg. was taken daily by 154 women for a total of 1,888 months in a study of continuous low-dosage progestin as an oral contraceptive method. Pregnancy rates of 0.6 per 100 woman-years for correct use and 1.3 per 100 woman-years for total use were obtained.
