Accuracy of one-dimensional approximation in neutron star quasi-normal modes
Since the eigenfrequency of gravitational waves from cold neutron stars becomes a complex number, where the real and imaginary parts respectively correspond to an oscillation frequency and damping rate, one has to somehow solve the eigenvalue problem ...

Bounds for the normal approximation of the maximum likelihood estimator
While the asymptotic normality of the maximum likelihood estimator under regularity conditions is long established, this paper derives explicit bounds for the bounded Wasserstein distance between the distribution of the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE)

ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

A new method of normal approximation
We introduce a new version of Stein's method that reduces a large class of normal approximation problems to variance bounding exercises, thus making a connection between central limit theorems and concentration of measure.

Inequalities for Conditioned Normal Approximations
Let $X_n$ be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables with mean 0 and variance 1. Let $S_n^\ast = n^{-\frac{1}{2}} \sum^n_{\nu=1} X_\nu$. We investigate in this paper the convergence order in conditioned central limit theorems, that is, the convergence order of $\sup_{t\in\mathbb{R}}|P(S_n^\ast < t|B) - \phi(t)|$.

ABSTRACT Background B‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (B‐LBL) represents a rare variety of non‐Hodgkin lymphoma, with limited research on its biology, progression, and management. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical characteristics of 256 patients aged ≤18 years who received treatment under the China Net Childhood Lymphoma (CNCL)‐

The Matrix Ridge Approximation: Algorithms and Applications [PDF]
We are concerned with an approximation problem for a symmetric positive semidefinite matrix due to motivation from a class of nonlinear machine learning methods. We discuss an approximation approach that we call {matrix ridge approximation}.

ABSTRACT Bone tumours present significant challenges for affected patients, as multimodal therapy often leads to prolonged physical limitations. This is particularly critical during childhood and adolescence, as it can negatively impact physiological development and psychosocial resilience.
