Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Border Basis Computation with Gradient-Weighted Normalization

open access: yesProceedings of the 2022 International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation, 2022
Normalization of polynomials plays a vital role in the approximate basis computation of vanishing ideals. Coefficient normalization, which normalizes a polynomial with its coefficient norm, is the most common method in computer algebra. This study proposes the gradient-weighted normalization method for the approximate border basis computation of ...

NREPO: Normal basis Recomputing with Permuted Operands [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE International Symposium on Hardware-Oriented Security and Trust (HOST), 2014
Hardware implementations of cryptographic algorithms are vulnerable to natural and malicious faults. Concurrent Error Detection (CED) can be used to detect these faults. We present NREPO, a CED which does not require redundant computational resources in the design.

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Primes in short intervals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Contrary to what would be predicted on the basis of Cram\'er's model concerning the distribution of prime numbers, we develop evidence that the distribution of $\psi(x+H)- \psi(x)$, for $0\le x\le N$, is approximately normal with mean $\sim H$ and ...

Feasibility and Safety of High‐Dose Proton Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Pediatric Central Nervous System Tumors: A Single‐Institution Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with

Methodical basis of the needs of water supply in rural areas in normal and special conditions

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
When calculating the balance of water supply, the purpose for which water is intended should be taken into account. Depending on them, the water quality parameters may vary.

Uncertainty analysis and B-basis value of tensile strength of 2D SiC/SiC composite

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
In this study, work on modelling uncertainty in the tensile properties of two-dimensional plain woven silicon carbide fibre-reinforced silicon carbide matrix (2D SiC/SiC) composite and B-basis values of tensile strength was carried out in the following ...

Muscle synergies after stroke are correlated with perilesional high gamma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Movements can be factored into modules termed "muscle synergies". After stroke, abnormal synergies are linked to impaired movements; however, their neural basis is not understood. In a single subject, we examined how electrocorticography signals from the

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...
