Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Unitary similarity to a normal matrix
The author gives several criteria of unitary similarity of a normal matrix \(A\) and any matrix \(B\) in terms of the Frobenius and spectral norms, characteristic polynomials, and traces of matrices.

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Expression of extracellular matrix protein in advanced keratoconus and the normal human cornea
BackgroundThe pre-Descemet layer (Dua’s layer) (PDL/DL) and the Descemet membrane (DM) have the highest expression of elastin in normal corneas. Reduced expression of elastin occurs in the corneal stroma of patients with keratoconus (KC).

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Peroxidasin (PXDN) is a secreted heme peroxidase that catalyzes the oxidative crosslinking of collagen IV within the extracellular matrix (ECM) via intermediate hypobromous acid (HOBr) synthesis from hydrogen peroxide and bromide, but recent findings ...

On estimation of matrix of normal mean
X\({}_ 1,...,X_ n\) are independent p-dimensional random vectors, \(X_ i\) having a p-variate normal distribution with unknown mean vector \(\theta_ i\) and covariance matrix the p by p identity matrix, \(n\geq p+1\). Denote by X the random matrix \((X_ 1,...,X_ n)\), and by \(\theta\) the corresponding matrix of means \((\theta_ 1,...,\theta_ n ...

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
