Circulating Hsa-miR-431-5p as Potential Biomarker for Squamous Cell Vulvar Carcinoma and Its Premalignant Lesions

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (VSCC) develops from high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) and differentiated vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (dVIN).

Kadison-Kastler stable factors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A conjecture of Kadison and Kastler from 1972 asks whether sufficiently close operator algebras in a natural uniform sense must be small unitary perturbations of one another. For n≥3 and a free, ergodic, probability measure-preserving action of SL<sub&

The chameleon groups of Richard J. Thompson: automorphisms and dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The automorphism groups of several of Thompson's countable groups of piecewise linear homeomorphisms of the line and circle are computed and it is shown that the outer automorphism groups of these groups are relatively small.

Putin's understanders, Russia's normalizers: Discursive palettes beyond the East-West divide [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Regional Security, 2023
This Forum focuses on a variety of discourses that in one way or another "understand" and normalize the logic of Putin's war against Ukraine. These discourses have different epistemologies - some of them might simply reproduce Russian propagandistic ...

MiR-26a-5p as a Reference to Normalize MicroRNA qRT-PCR Levels in Plasma Exosomes of Pediatric Hematological Malignancies

open access: yesCells, 2021
Plasma exosomal microRNAs (miRNAs) are considered as valid circulating biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), the most commonly used technique to assess circulating miRNA levels ...

Orbits of primitive k-homogenous groups on (N − k)-partitions with applications to semigroups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
© 2018 American Mathematical Society. The purpose of this paper is to advance our knowledge of two of the most classic and popular topics in transformation semigroups: automorphisms and the size of minimal generating sets. In order to do this, we examine

Normalizers of intermediate congruence subgroups of the Hecke subgroups

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2017
For a square-free positive integer N, we study the normalizer of ΓΔ(N) in PSL2(ℝ) and investigate the group structure of its quotient by ΓΔ(N) under certain conditions.

SASqPCR: robust and rapid analysis of RT-qPCR data in SAS. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Reverse transcription quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR) is a key method for measurement of relative gene expression. Analysis of RT-qPCR data requires many iterative computations for data normalization and analytical optimization.

Teaching Normal Birth, Normally [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Perinatal Education, 2009
Teaching normal-birth Lamaze classes normally involves considering the qualities that make birth normal and structuring classes to embrace those qualities. In this column, teaching strategies are suggested for classes that unfold naturally, free from unnecessary interventions.

Are Children “Normal”? [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Economics and Statistics, 2008
We examine Becker's (1960) contention that children are "normal." For the cross section of non-Hispanic white married couples in the U.S., we show that when we restrict comparisons to similarly-educated women living in similarly-expensive locations, completed fertility is positively correlated with the husband's income.
