High Temperatures and Rural Household Expenditure: Evidence From Longitudinal Data in Colombia
ABSTRACT This paper examines the impact of rising temperature on rural household expenditure in Colombia by combining high‐resolution gridded weather data with a rich longitudinal household survey. Our results show that a one‐standard‐deviation increase in average daily temperature during the rainy months significantly reduces rural household ...

Abstract A record‐breaking humid‐heat event occurred over northern China during 24 June–13 July 2025, characterized by persistent extreme wet‐bulb temperatures. The event is associated with a strong and persistent positive geopotential height anomaly, which favors the accumulation of heat and moisture.

Corals Reveal Atlantic Drivers of Red Sea Surface Variability Through Indian Ocean Inflow
Abstract Sea surface temperature (SST) and salinity (SSS) variability in the Red Sea influences marine ecosystems, hydrologic variability, and circulation within and outside of the Red Sea. However, understanding of multidecadal surface variability in the Red Sea is limited by short and sparse observational records.

Effects of the North Atlantic Oscillation on Spanish catches of albacore, Thunnus alalunga, and yellowfin tuna, Thunnus albacares, in the North–east Atlantic Ocean [PDF]
Tuna are highly migratory pelagic species (HMPS) with great importance in commercial fishing. Several authors have highlighted the effect of climatic oscillations such as the NAO (North Atlantic Oscillation) on HMPS.

Amplified winter Arctic tropospheric warming and its link to atmospheric circulation changes
The physical cause of amplified deep Arctic tropospheric warming in winter in the Barents–Kara Seas (BKS) is examined. The authors propose that changes in the atmospheric circulation patterns are important for deep Arctic tropospheric warming in winter ...

This paper reports on 133Xe monitoring results from three Arctic stations from 2014 to 2019. The results show that the atmospheric surface monthly activity concentrations (MAC) and observation frequency (MOF) of 133Xe in Arctic winter and spring are much higher than those observed sporadically in summer.

Habitat and spatial trends of U.K. wintering waterbird populations over 50 years
Abstract The United Kingdom is an important wintering ground for millions of waterbirds. Most U.K. wintering waterbird populations increased between 1970 and the mid‐1990s, but declined thereafter. We examined U.K. population indices in 46 wintering waterbird species in two 25‐year periods, 1970–1994 and 1995–2019, to identify which waterbird groups ...

Intra‐Seasonal Variability of Serial Clustering of Severe European Winter Windstorms
Abstract Clustering of severe European winter windstorms causes large economic loss and social‐environmental impacts. We present a detailed analysis of the intra‐seasonal variability of clustering of severe European winter windstorms based on ERA5 reanalysis, with the focus on impact‐relevant footprints of storm systems for the extended winter season ...
