Divergence of currents in the Northern Adriatic
Analysing temperature, salinity and currents data, divergence in the current field along with the corresponding upwelling has been observed in the central part of the Northern Adriatic. It appears at the end of the spring and the beginning of summer.

ABSTRACT The dynamic nature of small islands being geographically isolated and their perceived connectedness with global networks complicates research attempts to draw general conclusions on whether insularity leads to marginalization or strengthens their resilience for sustainable development.

Examining the Role of Economic Complexity and Climate Readiness in the Climate‐Fishing Nexus
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the climate‐fisheries association in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations from 1999 to 2022. A key objective is to explore the role of both the economic complexity index (ECI) and the climate readiness factor (READ) in the climate‐fishing nexus.

Spatial Dynamics of Tourism Sustainability in EU Member States
ABSTRACT This study introduces a synthetic indicator of tourism sustainability for the EU, bridging the gap between institutional monitoring and academic research. By applying the PROMETHEE II method to rank the 27 Member States in 2019 and 2023, the research transforms static data into a dynamic roadmap of post‐pandemic recovery. The findings reveal a

Pigment Signatures of Phytoplankton Dynamics in the Northern Adriatic
Seasonal and spatial distribution of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments were determined over an annual cycle in the central part of the northern Adriatic (transect Po River mouth - Rovinj) by the reversed-phase HPLC technique. The phytoplankton dynamics as reflected in chlorophyll a was affected by two distinct mechanisms: the new production fostered ...

Numerous studies have shown that during the Quaternary there were substantial fluctuations in sea level in response to glacial–interglacial climate variability, reaching lowstand positions up to 134 m below the present sea level (b.s.l.). These fluctuations have had a strong influence on the morphology of shallow shelf seas, which preserve evidence of ...

The Dinaric Mountains are a mountain range stretching NW–SE from the Alps to the Albanides–Hellenides in central Europe. The highest parts were occupied by small ice fields and/or valley glaciers during the Quaternary cold periods, while even today some small glaciers still exist in topoclimatically favourable areas.

Abstract Modeling species distributions in dynamic pelagic environments remains challenging, particularly for wide‐ranging and highly mobile species when there is limited guidance on model performance. This limitation constrains the effective use of species distribution models (SDMs) in marine conservation, where robust and transferable predictions are
