In this work we explore the viability of a novel pyrochlore‐type iron hydroxy fluoride cathode material in combination with Li6PS5Cl solid‐state electrolyte. We elucidate that extensive oxidative decomposition of Li6PS5Cl occurs within the iron‐based cathode, resulting in significant capacity contributions from the formed S species.
