When the disc’s away, the stars will play: dynamical masses in the nova-like variable KR Aur with a pinch of accretion [PDF]
ABSTRACT We obtained time-resolved optical photometry and spectroscopy of the nova-like variable KR Aurigae in the low state. The spectrum reveals a DAB white dwarf (WD) and a mid-M dwarf companion. Using the companion star’s i-band ellipsoidal modulation we refine the binary orbital period to be P = 3.906519 ± 0.000001 h.

Spectroscopic and Photometric Analysis of the Nova-like Cataclysmic Variable PG 1000+667: A New VY Sculptoris Star [PDF]
Multiyear photometry and orbit-resolved spectroscopy of the nova-like cataclysmic variable PG 1000+667 show behavior associated with the VY Sculptoris subclass of nova-like cataclysmic variables. Photometric observations over a 35 month interval from Indiana University's robotic telescope RoboScope show two drops of 3 mag to a low state.

LAMOST J2043+3413—a Fast Disk Precession SW Sextans Candidate in Period Gap
We present follow-up photometric observations and time-series analysis of a nova-like, SW Sextans-type, cataclysmic variable (CV) candidate, LAMOST J204305.95+341340.6 (hereafter J2043+3413), with a Gaia G -band magnitude of 15.30 and a distance of 990 ...

White Dwarf Photospheric Abundances in Cataclysmic Variables. IV. Deriving the [N/C] Ratio
We present results from our ongoing far-ultraviolet archival analysis of cataclysmic variable white dwarf (WD) abundances for six more systems: four SU UMa dwarf novae (BW Scl, SW UMa, BC UMa, and VW Hyi) together with the dwarf nova RX And, and the ...

Spectra of V1405 Cas at the Very Beginning Indicate a Low-mass ONeMg White Dwarf Progenitor
The lowest possible mass of ONeMg white dwarfs (WDs) has not been clarified despite its importance in the formation and evolution of WDs. We tackle this issue by studying the properties of V1405 Cas (Nova Cassiopeiae 2021), which is an outlier given a ...

Swift observations of the 2015 outburst of AG Peg -- from slow nova to classical symbiotic outburst [PDF]
Symbiotic stars often contain white dwarfs with quasi-steady shell burning on their surfaces. However, in most symbiotics, the origin of this burning is unclear. In symbiotic slow novae, however, it is linked to a past thermonuclear runaway. In June 2015,
