Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Identification of a novel class of mammalian phosphoinositol-specific phospholipase C enzymes.

open access: yes, 2010
Phosphoinositol (PhoIns)-specific phospholipase C enzymes (PLCs) are central to the inositol lipid signaling pathways and contribute to intracellular Ca2+ release and protein kinase C activation. Five distinct classes of PhoIns-specific PLCs are known to

Imidazolinium chloride salts bearing wingtip groups: Synthesis, molecular docking and metabolic enzymes inhibition

open access: yes, 2019
A series of symmetrical imidazolinium chloride salts bearing secondary N-alkyl substituents were synthesized in good yield by the reaction of N,N'-dialkylethane-1,2-diamines and HC(OEt)(3) in the presence of NH4Cl.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Fabrication of novel double-hetero-epitaxial SOT structure Si/gamma-Al2O3/Si

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper, we report the fabrication of Si-based double-hetero-epitaxial silicon on insulator (SOI) structure Si/gamma-Al2O3/Si. Firstly, single crystalline gamma-Al2O3(100) insulator films were grown epitaxially on Si(100) using the sources of TMA ...

Surface modification strategies for silicon based anodes coated with polymer-derived carbon source

open access: yesReview of Materials Research
By forming alloys with Li ions, silicon (Si) can possess an energy capacity ten times that of graphite anodes, making it a promising candidate for the next generation anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
