Novel micromolded structures

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
Current deep trench etch systems are able to etch two micron wide features ten’s of microns deep into a silicon substrate. Conformal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes are readily able to fill the trenches with reasonable deposition thickness by growing from the sidewalls in.

Novel Lithium-Containing Honeycomb Structures

Inorganic Chemistry, 2012
Rock-salt-based honeycomb structures containing Te(VI) and Sb(V) with innumerable prospects of properties and applications were realized in the two new series of mixed-metal oxides of lithium, Li(8)M(2)Te(2)O(12) (M(II) = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) and Li(8)M(2)Sb(2)O(12) (M(III) = Cr, Fe, Al, Ga).

A Novel Large Structured Cardiotocographic Database

2022 44th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2022
In this work we present the creation of a large, structured database of CardioTocoGraphic (CTG) recordings, starting from a raw dataset containing tracings collected between 2013 and 2021 by the medical team of the University Hospital Federico II of Naples.

Structuring Hypermedia Novels

2006
A generic structure for media-oriented modular storytelling is presented. The concept is based on a simple container and content model. We also show how various paths along a continuous storyline and branching threads can be organized. An initial implementation is compared with a second, more general and flexible structuring approach.

Novel Multistable Corrugated Structures

48th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference, 2007
We have been investigating the properties, behaviour and stability of multistable open corrugated shells. This multistability arises from the interaction between internal prestresses created during forming and non-linear geometrical changes during deformation.

Novel wavy chain structure

Journal of Coordination Chemistry, 2005
A novel one-dimensional coordination polymer [Mo3O9(phen)2] n (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) has been synthesized by hydrothermal methods and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The complex exhibits an infinite, one-dimensional wavy chain with phen coordinated directly to the molybdenum oxide framework, where binuclear units ...

Structures of Novel Diselenadiazolyls

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2001
A series of fluorinated diselenadiazolyls (p-XC6F4CNSeSeN, X = NC, F, Cl, Br) have been synthesised and show an unusual mode of association (X = Cl, Br) in the solid state which has been investigated by Density Functional Theory. Their magnetic behaviour has also been investigated and have been shown to be essentially diamagnetic.

Novel lanthanide structures

2014
A number of novel lanthanide alkoxide species were synthesized with fluorinated ligands. This includes monomers with pentafluorophenol, (DME)2Ln(OC6F5)3 (Ln = Nd, Er, Tm, Eu, and Yb), (py)4Ln(OC6F5)3 (Ln = Eu, Tb, Er, Tm, Yb), and (THF)3Yb(OC6F5)3. Unique europium species, ((py)3Eu(CF3SO3)2)n, (DME)2Eu(µ-OC6F5)3Eu(µ-OC6F5)3Eu(DME)2, and (DME)( C6F5O)

A Novel Photonic Bandgap (PBG) Structure

2001 31st European Microwave Conference, 2001
A novel one-dimensional (1-D) photonic bandgap (PBG) structure for microstrip lines is proposed. This new circuit is consisting of cross-gaps and base-to-base triangles etched in the ground plane of microstrip line. The PBG structures were designed and fabricated with different dimensions.

Novel Diversion Structure for Supercritical Flow

Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 2013
AbstractIn urban drainage systems, it is usually necessary to split the storm water discharge among different sewer branches because of limited flow capacity of either hydraulic structures or sewer lines. For this purpose, sewer sideweirs and leaping weirs are generally used as diversion overflow structures.
