Novel V-groove structures on silicon

Applied Optics, 1985
A novel etch process on silicon has been developed that consists of a conventional anisotropic etch process followed by stripping the protective oxide layer and etching the substrate once again in the anisotropic etch solution. As a result micron size patterns have been generated from a starting pattern size of 7 μm.

Novel EBG structure for antenna miniaturization

2nd European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2007), 2007
Our aim in this study is to miniaturize a printed antenna by using a novel electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure. This study is the extension of a work [4] made on the miniaturization of antenna using the theory of EBG structures, where we employed an EBG mushroom-like structure [1]. This type of structure presents a complexity in the geometry which

Novel Wideband Six-Port Receiver Structure

2007 European Conference on Wireless Technologies, 2007
Typical six-port direct receiver (SPDR) comprise a six-port junction, made of power dividers and hybrids, and four matched power detectors. This kind of circuit is difficult to implement in MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) technology, due to its sensitivity to fabrication tolerances.

Novel collagen-mimetic structures

2005
The synthesis and biophysical study of collagen mimetics is important for the development of novel biomaterials. Collagen proteins contain large triple-helical domains composed of Gly-X-Y repeats, where X and Y are often proline and hydroxyproline, respectively. We recently introduced (KTA represents the Kemp triacid, Fig.

Targeting novel folds for structural genomics

Proteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, 2002
Abstract The ultimate goal of structural genomics is to obtain the structure of each protein coded by each gene within a genome to determine gene function. Because of cost and time limitations, it remains impractical to solve the structure for every gene product experimentally.

A novel representation of protein structure

Journal of Molecular Graphics, 1995
Using a nonlinear mapping technique, we demonstrate that proteins folded in two dimensions display the same overall structural features as their three-dimensional counterparts. The two-dimensional representation of protein structure provides a novel way to visualize structural as well as distance information.

Novel electrical alignment structure

SPIE Proceedings, 2000
As geometries continue to shrink and the equipment is pushed closer to its true limits, overlay and other printing parameters become a larger part of the total budget. Overlay and CD measurements are sampled 'in line' to track and target tools. Adding these parameters to the electrically tested database along with sort data improves yield correlation ...

Novel Siloxane Surfactant Structures

2019
This chapter, which is focused on investigations carried out at the Max Planck Institute for Colloidal and Interfacial Studies in Berlin, begins with the synthesis and discusses the interfacial behavior of quaternary ammonium groups containing siloxane surfactants. It describes new directions of the development of siloxane surfactants.

Novel Structures In Symbiosis

1994
Abstract Symbiosis has influenced the body form of hosts and (for complex multicellular hosts) the anatomy of particular organ systems. The morphological changes linked with symbiosis are usually associated with the housing of the symbionts and enhanced access to the symbionts’ metabolic capabilities.
