Long non‐coding RNAs as key regulators of neurodegenerative protein aggregation

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 2, February 2025.
Abstract The characteristic events in neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) encompass protein misfolding, aggregation, accumulation, and their related cellular dysfunction, synaptic function loss. While distinct proteins are implicated in the pathological processes of different NDDs, the process of protein misfolding and aggregation remains notably similar

Circulating cell‐free DNA methylation‐based multi‐omics analysis allows early diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 18, Issue 11, Page 2801-2813, November 2024.
Our study performed parallel genomic and epigenomic profiling of plasma cfDNA from pancreatic cancer patients and healthy individuals. A diagnostic model with six methylation markers achieved high sensitivity (88.7%) and specificity (96.8%); performance was further improved when combined with CA19‐9 (sensitivity: 95.7%; specificity: 93.3%).

LncRNA EIF3J‐DT promotes chemoresistance in oral squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesOral Diseases, Volume 30, Issue 8, Page 4909-4920, November 2024.
Abstract Objectives This study aimed to screen oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) diagnostic and prognostic candidates and investigate the potential functions and mechanisms of candidates in the chemoresistance of OSCC cell lines. Materials and Methods Differential expression profiling of lncRNA was performed in a large cohort of OSCC patients from ...

Highly expressed B3GALT5‐AS1 contributes to gastric cancer progression by recruiting WDR5 to mediate B3GALT5 and regulating β‐catenin/ZEB1 axis

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 17, September 2024.
Abstract Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an important role in the progression of gastric cancer (GC), but its specific regulatory mechanism remains to be further studied. We previously identified that lncRNA B3GALT5‐AS1 was upregulated in GC serum. Here, we investigated the functions and molecular mechanisms of B3GALT5‐AS1 in GC tumorigenesis.

Long noncoding RNAs as potential diagnostic biomarkers for diabetes mellitus and complications: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2024.
Highlights Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) may be associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and related complications. We performed a systematic review and meta‐analysis of related published literature. LncRNAs had T2DM diagnostic area under the curve of 0.84, sensitivity of 0.79, and specificity of 0.75.

Long non‐coding RNA as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in melanoma: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 3, February 2024.
Abstract Recently, long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been applied as biomarkers for melanoma patients. In this systematic review and meta‐analysis, we investigated the diagnostic and prognostic value of lncRNAs. We used the keywords ‘lncRNA’ and ‘melanoma’ to search databases for studies published before June 14th, 2023.
