Phosphorylation of sindbis virus nsP3 in vivo and in vitro

Virology, 1990
nsP3 is one of four viral nonstructural proteins required for RNA replication of Sindbis virus. In this report, post-translational modifications of nsP3 which occur in both vertebrate and mosquito cell cultures have been examined. In pulse-chase experiments, analyzed by immunoprecipitation and sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis ...

Structure and function of rotavirus nonstructural protein NSP3

1996
The genomes of viruses in the family Reoviridae consist of segmented double-stranded RNA. There are 10 to 12 segments depending on the genus. The 5' ends and the 3' ends of the RNAs present conserved motifs for each virus genus. These conserved motifs have been hypothesized to play a role in genomic segment assortment during virus morphogenesis.

A Method to Monitor Activity of SARS-CoV-2 Nsp3 from Cells

2022
SARS-CoV-2 protease Nsp3 is a therapeutic target for developing anti-SARS-CoV-2 drugs. Nsp3 is a large multi-spanning membrane protein, and its characterization in vitro has been challenging. Here we describe an in vitro assay to characterize the biochemical activity of full-length Nsp3 isolated from cells.

Investigation of Binding Phenomenon of NSP3 and p130Cas Mutants and Their Effect on Cell Signalling

Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2013
Members of the novel SH2-containing protein (NSP3) and Crk-associated substrate (p130Cas) protein families form a multi-domain signalling platforms that mediate cell signalling process. We analysed the damaging consequences of three mutations, each from NSP3 (NSP3(L469R), NSP3(L623E), NSP3(R627E)) and p130Cas (p130Cas(F794R), p130Cas(L787E), p130Cas ...

Regulation of gene expression by the NSP1 and NSP3 non-structural proteins of rotavirus

Archives of Virology, 2011
The role of the rotavirus non-structural proteins NSP1 and NSP3 in regulating cellular and viral mRNA translation has been investigated by examining the effect of added recombinant NSP3 on protein translation in a T7-based in vitro coupled transcription-translation system.

Characterization of SARS-CoV-2 protease NSP3 and NSP5 degradome.

Infectious diseases are serious threats to human health and economy in both developed and non-developed countries. They are the cause of approximately half of the death toll worldwide. Recently, a severe acute respiratory syndrome, named COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), has spread across the globe and has been found to be caused by a novel strain ...
