In patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction related heart failure, the in‐hospital administration of ARNIs was associated with a reduced risk of MACEs and re‐hospitalizations for heart failure, as well as cardiac remodeling, compared to standard therapy.

The integration of BNP and NT-proBNP into clinical medicine
B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and NTproBNP have been shown to be extremely helpful in the diagnosis and management of patients with heart failure (HF). These neurohormones are predominately secreted from the left and the right cardiac ventricle in response to volume and pressure overload.

Cardiac remodelling in the era of the recommended four pillars heart failure medical therapy
Abstract Cardiac remodelling is a key determinant of worse cardiovascular outcome in patients with heart failure (HF) and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). It affects both the left ventricle (LV) structure and function as well as the left atrium (LA) and the right ventricle (RV).

Cardiac Biomarker Release After Exercise in Healthy Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [PDF]
PURPOSE: The authors evaluated the impact of acute exercise and 24-hour recovery on serum concentration of cardiac troponins T and I (cTnT and cTnI) and N-terminal fragment of the prohormone brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in healthy children and ...

Glomerular Filtration Rate and N-Terminal Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide as Predictors of Cardiovascular Mortality in Vascular Patients [PDF]
ObjectivesThe purpose of this work was to assess the prognostic role of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and NT-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) for mortality end points in the vascular population.BackgroundThe GFR and NT-proBNP have ...

Implementation of guideline‐recommended medical therapy for patients with heart failure in Europe
Abstract Physicians' adherence to guideline‐recommended heart failure (HF) treatment remains suboptimal, especially regarding the target doses. In particular, there is evidence that non‐cardiologists are less compliant with HF guideline recommendations. This is likely to have a detrimental impact on patients' survival, readmissions and quality of life.

Individual variability in cardiac biomarker release after 30 min of high-intensity rowing in elite and amateur athletes [PDF]
This study had two objectives: (i) to examine individual variation in the pattern of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) release in response to high-intensity rowing exercise, and (ii) to establish whether ...

Lean ZSF1 rats in basic research on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
Abstract Aims ZSF1 obese rats harbouring two mutant leptin receptor alleles (Leprcp and Leprfa) develop metabolic syndrome and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), making them a widely used animal model in cardiometabolic research.
