Investigation of NADPH-Dependent Thioredoxin Reductase-C (NTRC) In Chloroplast Lipid Metabolism

open access: yes, 2023
Redox reactions are ubiquitous within plant metabolism and critical for the sustainment of photosynthesis within thylakoid membranes. Specialized glycerolipids that make up these membranes in turn require redox reactions for the synthesis and ...

Chloroplast NADPH-dependent thioredoxin reductase from Chlorella vulgaris alleviates environmental stresses in yeast together with 2-Cys peroxiredoxin. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Chloroplast NADPH-dependent thioredoxin reductase (NTRC) catalyzes the reduction of 2-Cys peroxiredoxin (2-Cys Prx) and, thus, probably functions as an antioxidant system.

New In Vivo Approach to Broaden the Thioredoxin Family Interactome in Chloroplasts

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2022
Post-translational redox modifications provide an important mechanism for the control of major cellular processes. Thioredoxins (Trxs), which are key actors in this regulatory mechanism, are ubiquitous proteins that catalyse thiol-disulfide exchange ...

Beryllofluoride mimics phosphorylation of NtrC and other bacterial response regulators [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1999
Two-component systems, sensor kinase-response regulator pairs, dominate bacterial signal transduction. Regulation is exerted by phosphorylation of an Asp in receiver domains of response regulators. Lability of the acyl phosphate linkage has limited structure determination for the active, phosphorylated forms of receiver domains.

Targeting Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase in Cancer Models Using the Novel Small Molecule Inhibitor NTRC 3883-0

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO1) is a key regulator of immune suppression by catalyzing the oxidation of L-tryptophan. IDO1 expression has been related to poor prognosis in several cancers and to resistance to checkpoint immunotherapies.

Light-Regulation of Zeaxanthin Epoxidase in View of the Central Role of Zeaxanthin for Photoprotection. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysiol Plant
ABSTRACT Plants are frequently exposed to fluctuating light conditions and, as a consequence, to variable photo‐oxidative stress. Efficient and flexible photoprotection is therefore essential for the fitness of plants in the field. The xanthophyll zeaxanthin, which is formed in high light from violaxanthin in the xanthophyll cycle, contributes to ...

Overexpression of chloroplast NADPH-dependent thioredoxin reductase in Arabidopsis enhances leaf growth and elucidates in-vivo function of reductase and thioredoxin domains

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2013
Plant chloroplasts have versatile thioredoxin systems including two thioredoxin reductases and multiple types of thioredoxins. Plastid-localized NADPH-dependent thioredoxin reductase (NTRC) contains both reductase (NTRd) and thioredoxin (TRXd) domains in

Plastid 2-Cys peroxiredoxins are essential for embryogenesis in Arabidopsis

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2023
The redox couple formed by NADPH-dependent thioredoxin reductase C (NTRC) and 2-Cys peroxiredoxins (Prxs) allows fine-tuning chloroplast performance in response to light intensity changes.

Self‐guided Langevin dynamics study of regulatory interactions in NtrC [PDF]

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, 2009
AbstractMultiple self‐guided Langevin dynamics (SGLD) simulations were performed to examine structural and dynamical properties of the receiver domain of nitrogen regulatory protein C (NtrCr). SGLD and MD simulations of the phosphorylated active form structure suggest a mostly stable but broad structural ensemble of this protein.
