Two-atomic potential and distortion of excitation spectrum of liquid He-4 by admixture of He-3 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
The new interatomic potential g(r), providing the tunnelling of atoms, is suggested for calculating HFB phonon-roton spectrum E(p) of liquid He-4. The tunnelling enables the calculations to reproduce the experimental dependence of shifts E(p) on pressure P induced by He-3 admixture in the constant total density and volume.

Coulomb Corrections for Coherent Neutrino Nucleus Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In this work we consider sub-leading $O(Z^2\alpha^3)$ corrections to coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering (CEvNS). These corrections are not negligible by power counting since nuclei with large coherent cross sections have sizeable nuclear charges e.g.\ $Z\alpha \sim 0.4$.

Energy dependence of the GAFCHROMIC LD‐V1 in the diagnostic radiographic modalities

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract The GAFCHROMIC LD‐V1 radiochromic film is widely used in dosimetry because it can provide high‐resolution two‐dimensional dose distributions without processing. This study aimed to evaluate the response characteristics at different effective energies, from the low‐energy range of mammography to the high‐energy range of computed tomography. Net

Eugene P. Wigner’s Visionary Contributions to Generations-I through IV Fission Reactors

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
Among Europe’s greatest scientists who fled to Britain and America in the 1930s, Eugene P. Wigner made instrumental advances in reactor physics, reactor design and technology, and spent nuclear fuel processing for both purposes of developing atomic ...

Three-body forces and Efimov physics in nuclei and atoms [PDF]

open access: yesEur. Phys. J. A 61, 9 (2025)
This review article presents historical developments and recent advances in our understanding on the three-body forces and Efimov physics, from an interdisciplinary viewpoint encompassing nuclear physics and cold atoms. Theoretical attempts to elucidate the three-body force with the chiral effective field theory are explained, followed by an overview ...

The burden of intracranial atherosclerosis on cerebral small vessel disease: A community cohort study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Exploring the prevalence and association between intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS) and cerebral small vessel diseases (CSVD), this study delved beyond the current scope, utilising high‐resolution vessel wall MRI (HRVW‐MRI) to investigate how subtle changes in intracranial atherosclerotic features influence the various burdens of ...

An optimization strategy on prion AGAAAAGA amyloid fibril molecular modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
X-ray crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy are two powerful tools to determine the protein 3D structure. However, not all proteins can be successfully crystallized, particularly for membrane proteins. Although NMR spectroscopy is indeed very powerful in determining the 3D structures of membrane proteins, same as X-ray ...

Histone Deacetylase 6 Brain PET in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis‐Frontotemporal Spectrum Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective [18F]EKZ‐001 is a positron emission tomography (PET) tracer targeting histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6), an enzyme responsible for intracellular transport and clearance of misfolded proteins. HDAC6 modulation is a promising treatment strategy in neurodegenerative disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
