The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

To the nature of 0+ excitations in deformed nuclei of actinides

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2016
The excitation spectra in the deformed nucleus 232U have been studied by means of the (p, t) reaction. 0+ assignments for 13 excited states and up to spin 6+ for other states are made from the angular distributions of tritons and the coupled-channel ...

CurieLM: Enhancing Large Language Models for Nuclear Domain Applications [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Large Language Models (LLMs), such as the Mistral model, have exhibited remarkable performance across diverse tasks. However, their efficacy in nuclear applications remains constrained by a lack of domain-specific knowledge and an inability to ...

A sub-critical wait-time experiment to validate stochastic nuclear reactor kinetics models for low neutron source Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) start-up simulations [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this paper is to present a theoretical sub-critical wait-time experiment that may be used to validate stochastic nuclear reactor kinetics models which compute the neutron population probability distribution.

Cellular and nuclear morphology…and calcium signaling: revealing the interplay between structure and function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Poster presentation: Calcium plays a pivotal role in relaying electrical signals of the cell to subcellular compartments, such as the nucleus. Since this one ion type is used by the cell for many processes a neuron needs to establish finely tuned calcium

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Evolutionary patterns and functional effects of 3D chromatin structures in butterflies with extensive genome rearrangements

open access: yesNature Communications
Chromosome rearrangements may distort 3D chromatin architectures and thus change gene regulation, yet how 3D chromatin structures evolve in insects is largely unknown.

Prediction of nuclear proteins using SVM and HMM models

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2009
Background The nucleus, a highly organized organelle, plays important role in cellular homeostasis. The nuclear proteins are crucial for chromosomal maintenance/segregation, gene expression, RNA processing/export, and many other processes.
