Model-independent WIMP Scattering Responses and Event Rates: A Mathematica Package for Experimental Analysis [PDF]
The community's reliance on simplified descriptions of WIMP-nucleus interactions reflects the absence of analysis tools that integrate general theories of dark matter with standard treatments of nuclear response functions.

Decay of muons generated by laser-induced processes in ultra-dense hydrogen H(0)
This work reports identification of muons by their characteristic life-time of 2.20 μs after laser-induction of their precursor mesons, both kaons K± and KL0 and pions π± in ultra-dense hydrogen H(0).

Modern topics in theoretical nuclear physics
Over the past five years there have been profound advances in nuclear physics based on effective field theory and the renormalization group. In this brief, we summarize these advances and discuss how they impact our understanding of nuclear systems and ...

Chiral nucleon-nucleon forces in nuclear structure calculations [PDF]
Realistic nuclear potentials, derived within chiral perturbation theory, are a major breakthrough in modern nuclear structure theory, since they provide a direct link between nuclear physics and its underlying theory, namely the QCD. As a matter of fact,

Nuclear physics of the outer layers of accreting neutron stars [PDF]
Now 50 years since the existence of the neutron star crust was proposed, we review the current understanding of the nuclear physics of the outer layers of accreting neutron stars.

Rad27/FEN1 prevents accumulation of Okazaki fragments and ribosomal DNA copy number changes
The budding yeast Rad27 is a structure‐specific endonuclease. Here, the authors reveal that Rad27 is crucial for maintaining the stability of the ribosomal RNA gene (rDNA) region. Rad27 deficiency leads to the accumulation of Okazaki fragments and changes in rDNA copy number.
