Quarkyonic solution to the hyperon puzzle [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We show that Quarkyonic Matter can mitigate the hyperon puzzle. The key observation is that the hyperon threshold is shifted to a higher density by a factor of constituent strange quark mass.

Modern theory of nuclear forces

open access: yes, 2004
Nuclear forces can be systematically derived using effective chiral Lagrangians consistent with the symmetries of QCD. I review the status of the calculations for two- and three-nucleon forces and their applications in few-nucleon systems. I also address

RG flows and thermofield-double states in holography

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In this article, we consider a Renormalization Group flow of the Thermofield-Double state in a UV-complete description of Holography, by introducing a relevant deformation to the N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 super Yang-Mills theory at strong coupling. This RG-

Thermoelectric transport coefficients of quark matter

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
A thermal gradient and/or a chemical potential gradient in a conducting medium can lead to an electric field, an effect known as thermoelectric effect or Seebeck effect.

Strings, branes, Schwarzian action and maximal chaos

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2023
In this article, we present explicit evidence that maximal chaos occurs for a generic, probe quark-like defect degrees of freedom, in a strongly coupled large Nc gauge theory.

One-loop analysis of β decays in SMEFT

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We perform a loop-level analysis of charged-current (CC) processes involving light leptons and quarks within the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT).

Complexity in Economic and Social Systems

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
During recent years we have witnessed a systematic progress in the understanding of complex systems, both in the case of particular systems that are classified into this group and, in general, as regards the phenomenon of complexity [...]

Hyperons in nuclear matter from SU(3) chiral effective field theory

open access: yes, 2016
Brueckner theory is used to investigate the properties of hyperons in nuclear matter. The hyperon-nucleon interaction is taken from chiral effective field theory at next-to-leading order with SU(3) symmetric low-energy constants.

Benchmarking nuclear fission theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics, 2015
We suggest a small set of fission observables to be used as test cases for validation of theoretical calculations. The purpose is to provide common data to facilitate the comparison of different fission theories and models. The proposed observables are chosen from fission barriers, spontaneous fission lifetimes, fission yield characteristics, and ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...
