Rho meson decay in the presence of a magnetic field

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
We find a general expression for the one-loop self-energy function of neutral $$\rho $$ ρ -meson due to $$\pi ^+\pi ^-$$ π + π - intermediate state in a background magnetic field.

Benchmarking nuclear fission theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics, 2015
We suggest a small set of fission observables to be used as test cases for validation of theoretical calculations. The purpose is to provide common data to facilitate the comparison of different fission theories and models. The proposed observables are chosen from fission barriers, spontaneous fission lifetimes, fission yield characteristics, and ...

Nuclear effective field theory: Status and perspectives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The nuclear physics landscape has been redesigned as a sequence of effective field theories (EFTs) connected to the Standard Model through symmetries and lattice simulations of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD).

Introduction to Nuclear-Reaction Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
These notes summarise the lectures I gave during the summer school "International Scientific Meeting on Nuclear Physics" at La R bida in Spain in June 2018. They offer an introduction to nuclear-reaction theory, starting with the basics in quantum scattering theory followed by the main models used to describe breakup reactions: the Continuum ...

Further developments of a multi-phase transport model for relativistic nuclear collisions [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Science and Techniques, 2021
A multi-phase transport (AMPT) model was constructed as a self-contained kinetic theory-based description of relativistic nuclear collisions as it contains four main components: the fluctuating initial condition, a parton cascade, hadronization, and a ...

Quantum many-body theory for electron spin decoherence in nanoscale nuclear spin baths [PDF]

open access: yesReports on progress in physics. Physical Society, 2016
Decoherence of electron spins in nanoscale systems is important to quantum technologies such as quantum information processing and magnetometry. It is also an ideal model problem for studying the crossover between quantum and classical phenomena.

Covariant Density Functional Theory in Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics [PDF]

open access: yesAnnual Review of Nuclear and Particle Science, 2019
How does subatomic matter organize itself? Neutron stars are cosmic laboratories uniquely poised to answer this fundamental question that lies at the heart of nuclear science.

Nuclear Quantum Effects in Water and Aqueous Systems: Experiment, Theory, and Current Challenges.

open access: yesChemical Reviews, 2016
Nuclear quantum effects influence the structure and dynamics of hydrogen-bonded systems, such as water, which impacts their observed properties with widely varying magnitudes.
