A Central Somatic Transmission Mediates Proprioceptive Facilitation of Muscle Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zhang et al. uncover a novel central mechanism for persistent muscle pain, in which TRPA1 sensitization in MeV proprioceptive neurons enhances somatic secretion. This, in turn, disinhibits descending pain control from neighboring noradrenergic locus coeruleus neurons via local GABAergic circuits, thereby promoting inflammatory muscle pain.

Pool boiling heat transfer of a copper microporous coating in borated water

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2020
Pool boiling heat transfer of a copper microporous coating was experimentally studied in borated water with a concentration of boric acid from 0.0 to 5.0 vol percent (vol%) to determine the effect of boric acid on boiling heat transfer in water.

Boiling of FC-72 on Surfaces with Open Copper Microchannel

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The paper presents the results of experimental research on pool boiling heat transfer of dielectric liquid FC-72. Measurements were made at atmospheric pressure on open surfaces with microchannels.

A Tac1‐Expressing Brainstem Pathway Underlies the Pathogenesis of Trigeminal Neuralgia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A critical TG‐Sp5CTac1‐PBNTac1 pathway drives trigeminal neuropathic pain (TNP). Tac1‐expressing parabrachial nucleus (PBNTac1) neurons exhibit heightened responses to innocuous stimuli in TNP, and chemogenetic inhibition of these neurons effectively prevents TNP development.

Numerical investigation of nucleate pool boiling heat transfer

open access: yesThermal Science, 2016
Multidimensional numerical simulation of the atmospheric saturated pool boiling is performed. The applied modelling and numerical methods enable a full representation of the liquid and vapour two-phase mixture behaviour on the heated surface, with included prediction of the swell level and heated wall temperature field.

A Testis‐Specific Aralkylamine N‐Acetyltransferase Regulates Dimorphic Sperm Function and Male Fertility in Moths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

Inhibition of the Wall-attached Fuel Combustion and the Formation of Aerosol Particle

open access: yesAerosol and Air Quality Research, 2021
The wall-attached fuel layer of the combustor usually leads to an unstable combustion and produces an unexpected emission, such as aerosol particles and unburn hydrocarbons.
