Infrared thermometry study of nanofluid pool boiling phenomena

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2011
Infrared thermometry was used to obtain first-of-a-kind, time- and space-resolved data for pool boiling phenomena in water-based nanofluids with diamond and silica nanoparticles at low concentration (<0.1 vol.%).

Palmitoylation of PSD‐95 Orchestrates Learning‐Dependent Metaplasticity in the Amygdala and Fear Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that fear learning specifically triggers PICK1/DHHC2‐dependent palmitoylation of PSD‐95 in the lateral amygdala. Fear conditioning induces the dissociation of DHHC5 from PSD‐95 and the association of PSD‐95 with DHHC2. DHHC2‐mediated palmitoylation of PSD‐95 is required for synaptic transmission and underlies fear learning–induced ...

Effects of Evaporation Temperature on Nucleate Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Characteristics Outside the Enhanced Tube

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2015
Nucleate pool boiling outside the horizontal enhanced tube (Φ25 mm) with the refrigerant R134a was experimentally investigated. The inner heat transfer correlation has been obtained by using Wilson graphic method.

MAM‐Localized MANF Counteracts Microinflammatory Stress to Attenuate Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Cataractogenesis in High Myopia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic microinflammation in high myopia suppresses MANF in lens epithelial cells. MANF normally resides within MAMs and promotes ubiquitin‐mediated degradation of the ER Ca2+ pump SERCA2. MANF loss causes pathological SERCA2 accumulation, MAM hyperassembly, and disrupted ER‐to‐mitochondria Ca2+ transfer, leading to mitochondrial failure, oxidative ...

Numerical simulation on the heat transfer characteristics during the bubble growth considering microlayer evaporation in nucleate boiling

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
In the previous studies, it was confirmed that there is a microlayer that forms between a growing bubble and the heat transfer surface in nucleate pooling boiling.

Targeting p21‐High Senescent Kupffer Cells Nanotherapeutically Potentiates Antitumor Immunity in Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Portal Vein Tumor Thrombus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of a biomimetic SKEV@AAV platform targeting p21‐high senescent Kupffer cells (sKCs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT). p21‐high sKCs accumulate in the PVTT microenvironment and establish an immunosuppressive, SASP‐rich environment that facilitates tumor cell proliferation and immune evasion.

Bubble Dynamics for Nucleate Pool Boiling of Water, Ethanol and Methanol Pure Liquids under the Atmospheric Pressure

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2015
Bubble dynamics is the most important sub-phenomenon, which basically affects the nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficient. In this research, bubble departure diameter values were experimentally measured for heat fluxes up to 110 kW.m-2 ...

Psychological Stress Associated Bile Acid Reprogramming Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Depression is increasingly recognized as a risk factor for chronic diseases, yet its biological impact on cancer remains unclear. Using data from more than 490 000 participants across three international cohorts, we show that depression significantly increases the risk of liver cancer.

Multiscale Coupling From Mastication to Retronasal Aroma Perception: The PG‐DTCFN Model and Multiphysics Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using grilled lamb skewers as a model system, this work builds a multiscale coupling framework from oral processing to retronasal aroma perception, reveals dual‐kinetic release patterns and Electroencephalogram‐characterized central encoding features, and proposes an interpretable physics‐guided deep learning model validated by multiphysics simulation,
