Crystal nucleation in adroplet based microfluidic crystallizer [PDF]
The study presented in this paper deals with the determination of eflucimibe nucleation rate in a droplet based microfluidic crystallizer. The experimental device allows the storage of up to 2000 monodispersed droplets to get nucleation statistics and ...

Crystallization starts with nucleation and control of nucleation is crucial for the control of the number, size, perfection, polymorphism and other characteristics of crystalline materials. This is particularly true for crystallization in solution, which is an essential part of processes in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and a major step in

AbstractWe consider the possibility that dust grains in novae could nucleate on ions. We examine how different ejected masses and different elemental abundances effect the availability of nucleation centres, and we show how this model could explain why only novae of intermediate speed classes form dust.

Freezing nucleation apparatus puts new slant on study of biological ice nucleators in precipitation [PDF]
For decades, drop-freezing instruments have contributed to a better understanding of biological ice nucleation and its likely implications for cloud and precipitation development. Yet, current instruments have limitations.

Metastability and Nucleation [PDF]
fect crystals. This combination has allowed the construction of a unique IXS spectrometer, now in routine operation at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble. Its main success lies in its capability to measure S(Q,E) at momentum transfers, Q= 0.5n30 nm-l, with basically unlimited energy transfer, and with an energy resolution of 1.5±0 ...
