Doublet frequencies in sequenced nucleic acids
Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1975A doublet frequency count (set of frequencies of the 16 possible two-base sequences) can be calculated from the experimentally determined overall sequence of a nucleic acid. In this paper, a statistical methodology is developed for comparing such counts with random, with others of the same type or with doublet proportions found in whole DNAs.

Nucleic acid sequence-based amplification
Nature, 1991Nucleic acid sequence-based amplification (NASBA) is a primer-dependent technology that can be used for the continuous amplification of nucleic acids in a single mixture at one temperature.

Nucleic Acid Sequence Determination
1980It is often emphasised how closely the structure and function of biological materials are related to each other. This is certainly true for all biological macromolecules, but to some extent it is also true for any chemical substance: whether it takes part in a simple chemical reaction or in a complex biological process, the function of the molecule is ...

Sequences in Genetic Nucleic Acids
1973The basic chemical material of the gene is DNA and all the information for the developing organism is contained in the form of a specific nucleotide sequence in this DNA. In order to understand the gene more fully and the way in which the information is encoded it is necessary to study these nucleotide sequences.

Nucleic acid sequence analysis software for microcomputers
Analytical Biochemistry, 1990It is clear that a computer-aided data control system is required for even small laboratories generating nucleic acid data. While the molecular biologist at many universities and large research institutions has access to mainframe computers and nucleic acid sequence analysis software, many find it more convenient to perform sequence analysis on ...

A novel method for nucleic acid sequence determination
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1988We describe a novel sequencing methodology which should be readily and completely automated. The method relies on fragmentation of a nucleotide or deoxynucleotide sequence into short fragments, and subsequent quantitation of the fragments by hybridization to oligo-deoxynucleotides on a solid support.

Nucleic acid amplification and sequencing techniques
1993While nucleic acid hybridization procedures have now developed to the extent that they can be used readily for identification and typing of a wide range of microorganisms, the target nucleic acid is available only in very limited quantities unless the organism is first cultivated. Culture methods have not, however, been devised for some microorganisms,

Nucleic Acids (DNA) Sequencing, Transcriptional
2006Transcriptional Sequencing (TS) is a novel DNA sequencing method based on the chain termination method using RNA Polymerase (RNAP). Transcriptional sequencing differs considerably from conventional cycle sequencing methods using DNA Polymerases (DNAPs) with 2′-deoxyribonucleotide triphosphates (2′-dNTPs) and 2′, 3′-dideoxyribonucleotide triphosphates ...

Gene analysis and nucleic acid sequencing
1997Since the inception and popularization of capillary electrophoresis (CE) during the 1970s and 1980s, the application of the technique to the analysis of biomolecules has captured the imagination and energies of scientists in academia and industry. Central to this fascination is the ability to accomplish high resolution separations without the need to ...
