NME1 (NME/NM23 nucleoside diphosphate kinase 1) [PDF]

open access: yesAtlas of Genetics and Cytogenetics in Oncology and Haematology, 2013
Review on NME1 (NME/NM23 nucleoside diphosphate kinase 1), with data on DNA, on the protein encoded, and where the gene is implicated.

Pan2‐Pan3 Complex‐Mediated Deadenylation Enforces mRNA Quality Control for Infection of the Rice Blast Fungus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 18, 27 March 2026.
Discovery that deadenylation, rather than transcription, acts as the rate‐limiting step for developmental timing in a plant pathogen. Evidence that P‐body integrity and mRNA decay are mechanistically coupled to rapid cellular differentiation under environmental stress. Identification of Pan2‐Pan3 as a pathogen‐specific “meta‐virulence factor” absent in

Targeting Autophagy in Ovarian Cancer: The Emerging Role of Ginsenosides

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Ovarian cancer, the third most prevalent gynecological malignancy, is frequently diagnosed at an advanced stage owing to its asymptomatic early progression. Despite the application of conventional therapies, clinical management remains limited by adverse effects and the development of drug resistance.

The microtubule-associated nucleoside diphosphate kinase.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1984
Microtubule protein prepared by cycles of assembly-disassembly contains a nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDP kinase) activity. We have isolated the NDP kinase responsible for this activity from twice-polymerized bovine brain microtubule protein by a five-step chromatographic procedure.

Targeting NME3 to Restore Mitochondrial Fission‐Fusion Balance Defines a Novel Disease‐Modifying Strategy for Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.
NME3 deficiency disrupts mitochondrial fission‐fusion balance, causing neuronal damage via ROS. Pharmacological Drp1 inhibition (Mdivi‐1) or substantia nigra‐specific NME3 overexpression restores mitochondrial equilibrium, prevents dopaminergic neuron loss, and alleviates motor deficits in PD models.

The dosage-dependent effect exerted by the NM23-H1/H2 homolog NDK-1 on distal tip cell migration in C. elegans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Abnormal regulation of cell migration and altered rearrangement of the cytoskeleton are fundamental properties of metastatic cells. The first identified metastasis suppressor NM23-H1, which displays nucleoside-diphosphate kinase (NDPK) activity is ...

Move beyond free radical theory of aging

open access: yesiMetaOmics, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2026.
Free radicals play a dual, dose‐dependent role in aging. Low levels activate the key sensor adenosine 5'‐monophosphate‐activated protein kinase (AMPK), promoting cell survival mechanisms like autophagy and enhancing mitochondrial health. High levels, however, push AMPK to initiate cell death pathways, such as apoptosis. This positions AMPK as a central

Varicella Zoster Virus Infection: Clinical Features, Molecular Pathogenesis, Treatment, and Prevention

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
This review focuses on the clinical features, molecular mechanisms, treatment methods, and preventive measures of the VZV, with the aim of providing a theoretical basis for the development of new treatment and prevention methods for HZ. ABSTRACT Varicella zoster virus (VZV) is a ubiquitous human herpesvirus that establishes lifelong latency and causes ...

Functional and genetic evidence that nucleoside transport is highly conserved in Leishmania species: Implications for pyrimidine-based chemotherapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Leishmania pyrimidine salvage is replete with opportunities for therapeutic intervention with enzyme inhibitors or antimetabolites. Their uptake into cells depends upon specific transporters; therefore it is essential to establish whether various ...

Trans‐Omics Integration Reveals That the Kidney Contributes to Systemic Aging via Sexually Dimorphic Accumulation of Glycosphingolipids

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Female‐specific renal GluCer accumulation disrupts mitochondrial quality control via a conserved purine‐mTORC1 pathway, triggering a wave of uremic toxins into the systemic circulation that constitutes a female‐biased vulnerability toward renal‐driven multiorgan senescence.
