The compartmentation of nucleoside diphosphate kinase in mitochondria

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 1995
The compartmentation of nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDPK) was studied in mitochondria isolated from heart and liver of rat, rabbit, and pigeon. Compartmentation was assessed by determining latencies of enzyme activities, fractionating mitochondria with digitonin, and treating mitochondria with trypsin in the presence and absence of digitonin.

Molecular interactions involving Escherichia coli nucleoside diphosphate kinase

Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes, 2006
Nucleoside diphosphate kinase plays a distinctive metabolic role as the enzyme poised between the last reaction of deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate (dNTP) biosynthesis and the DNA polymerization apparatus. In bacteriophage T4 infection, NDP kinase is one of very few enzymes of host cell origin to participate in either dNTP synthesis or DNA replication.

A Novel Function for Nucleoside Diphosphate Kinase inDrosophila

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1996
Nucleoside diphosphate (NDP) kinase is an enzyme that transfers the gamma-phosphate of nucleoside triphosphates to nucleoside diphosphates. Besides this well-defined role, recent evidence suggests that NDP kinase may be implicated in a wide variety of essential cellular processes.

Nucleoside diphosphate kinase activity associated with ribonucleotide reducatase

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1976
Summary Ribonucleotide reductase from Escherichia coli contains nucleoside diphsophate kinase activity even in highly purified preparations. Although the bulk of the kinase activity was removed during the initial steps of the ribonucleotide reductase purifications some activity remained in the purest fractions.
